My Kolektif are fundraising for Women's Aid Organisation

My Kolektif is a Malaysian Mental Health Arts Collective. Made up of individuals who have lived experience of mental struggles, coming together to create artworks about OUR stories. www.mykolektif.comOur Creative Release Series is happening in conjunction with mental health awareness month. Together with our event partner Moon and Soul KL and with the aim to raise funds for the WAO KL(Women's Aid Organisation Kuala Lumpur) we are hosting a series of intimate events to provide a safe space to find release and aid discussion on the topic of mental health.

Creative Release Series Events:


10th October 2020
2.00pm - 3.30pm: Mental Health x Alternative Healing Circle Discussion 
3.30pm - 5.00 pm: Creative Release Workshop by Moon and Soul


17th October 2020
2.00pm - 3.30pm: My Kolektif Members Circle 
3.30pm - 5.00pm: Open Mic Performances

All events are FREE as part of a collaboration with My Kolektif and Moon and Soul but we will be raising funds for a Domestic Violence Shelter, Women’s Aid Organisation started in 1982. The late Tun Tan Siew Sin donated the seed money of RM30K to set up the shelter.

WAO is the 1st shelter in South Asia to set up a domestic violence shelter for women & to bring along their kids.

With all physical violence, most women & children go through emotional & mental stress. WAO’s social workers & counsellors do provide counselling.

• Counselling services
• The Women's Refuge
• The Child Care Centre
• Social Work
• Advocacy
• Operations
