My Story

As a secondary school, we will be raising money this year for The Peace Education Centre (T-PEC).

Here's a little about T-PEC:

The Peace Education Center is a non-profit, Myanmarese refugee learning center and boarding home based in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Their mission is to provide education, shelter, and a high standard of living for approximately 50 refugee children (ages 3-18). Many ethnic minority families go through severe hardship and abuse while fleeing the military in Myanmar. The majority of TPEC students come from the Chin state of Myanmar. TPEC provides these students with a safe place to learn and grow. The school is protected by the UNHCR, but they are fully dependent on the generous giving of kind donors in order to be able to pay for rental, food and groceries, medical bills, and school supplies. Where will your donations go?

The money raised during Run-for-a-Cause 2023 will specifically go towards providing dental care for each and every student at TPEC. We also hope to purchase a brace for a young student with a heart condition, so that he can join his friends when they play sports without fear of injury.

How it works:

  • This run is from January 28th - February 8th, 2023.
  • Meganne will walk/run as many kilometers as she can.
  • My goal is to walk 30+ kilometers.

Sponsorship options:

  1. Sponsor a certain amount per kilometer (Rm 3/km, Rm 5/km, etc.) - After the event, you will receive a message from me personally, informing you how many kilometers I ran/walked and how much the sponsorship donation will be, along with the information on how to make the donation.
  2. Sponsor a lump sum (e.g. Rm 50 total donation)
