Hello! My name is Brenda Ho and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of Lotus Charity Care Centre Society Selangor & W.P (formerly known as Lotus Charity Care Centre).

Lotus is an orphanage in Semenyih, managed and taken care of by Ms Sarah Thomas. They have stayed there for more than a decade by renting the house, however due to some financial issues, the owner of the house has decided to sell the house and stop renting it out. However, Ms Sarah does not have enough funds to buy the house hence she needs your help. The owner has given them until the end of October to raise the necessary funds or they will have to move out. Ms Sarah is also taking care of an old folks’ home in the same neighbourhood (however they are staying in a different house).

With 26 young children, it is extremely difficult for them to move to a new location, and it is even harder to find a new place with an owner that would be willing to rent their place to them. Ms Sarah has received RM80,000 in donations so far, but she still needs help to raise the remaining RM320,000. Besides raising money to buy the premises, she also struggles with daily expenses because of the number of children and elderly to take care of, including but not limited to food, medicine, school fees, etc.

My parents have been visiting and helping out at this orphanage for more than a decade hence they are familiar with Ms Sarah and can vouch for their urgent situation and Ms Sarah’s genuine kind-heartedness. I have provided the phone numbers of Ms Sarah as well as my father should you wish to talk to them to gain a better understanding of this situation. You are also welcomed (and encouraged!) to visit the orphanage in person to verify its authenticity as well as lend a helping hand.
