Mrs. Sophy Keng is currently 53 years old and she has been as a farmer for over 15 years. She has five kids, aged between 20 and 30 years and they are all working in their own jobs.
She has applied for a loan as working capital and expects to repay the loan within 12 months.
Mrs Sophy Keng grows rice on around twelve hectares of land, which she could farm and harvest twice a year and the collection of crops is around three tons per hectare to meet market demand. The agent will buy all of her crops directly from her home when harvested. She has been using her own tractor to plough the land for over ten years. To keep up with her previous years' production, she has applied for a loan to purchase some seeds, insecticide, weed killer, commercial fertilizer, diesel for tractor to plough the land and to cover additional labour costs during collection of the crops.
