Join me by supporting Jom Botak 2016!
My Story
When I subsequently heard that people shaved their head for charity purposes, I regretted not doing it for a better reason, and “vowed” that I will one day do it (for a good cause).
20 years have passed since my last experience. When I heard that Jom Botak is coming to my workplace, Taylor’s University, I knew this is the time to “fulfill my vow”.
I have seen a distant family friend suffered cancer and lost her hair during treatment but that was by far my closest experience to the “big C” that has affected many lives. I have read in social media how loving parents shaved for their kids who lost their hair to cancer treatment so the kids do not feel they are of any difference, and the testimonies of those who have supported good causes such as Jom Botak, and I have been deeply touched by their acts. My hope through this experience is to lose my hair and still live a normal life, as a message to the cancer patients that they too can be very normal if they lose their hair.
MAKNA has been doing a great job supporting the cancer patients and I hope through the fund raising for this organisation, they can reach out to help more people and make an impact in their lives.
