This has changed my life, and i hope it'll change yours, and theirs.

My Story

Every story is a purpose, therefore I wish that in mine, you’d find yours. I hope that my purpose to tell my story is your purpose to donate.

On the 21st of July 2016, my friend Suzette Ackerman (as much as I hate to say it) lost her battle to cancer. She could’ve done way more, she would’ve done way more, if she had the chance to. So here's my story, my little journey on trying to save big lives.

I'm Shiray Tan, I'm 15 years old, and I'm well aware of scams and rotten charity in our society today just like you, and barely donate because of the lack of trust i have in non-profit organisations that claims to save the world. But I trust MAKNA, and here's why you should to.  The founder of MAKNA, Dato' Mohd Farid Arifin almost lost his son (who has unfortunately passed away on 2011 because of lung fibrosis) to leukaemia cancer in 1992, so (i believe) he out of everyone, should know what it feels like to have someone you love battling cancer. I also believe in his father-to-son love, and his vision to save lives, and i hope you could understand how pure his purposes were when he first started this organisation, from a father-to-son's perspective, i hope you trust MAKNA as much as i do, as much as he does. Every year, on average, 10,000 to 11,000 patients receives financial assistance from MAKNA. MAKNA provides financial support and even covers the treatment costs of financially challenged patients, support and conduct scientific researches on cancer, and does many more.  Your donation, might just save a life as MAKNA has saved a few (you can read more survivor stories like i did in their website). Give what you can, give what you want. Even if you don’t donate much, your little donation could be a part of a survivor’s story, you won't know how much you'd help.

MAKNA helps the cancer patients, and we, are responsible to help MAKNA.

I also have to mention this, i have never in my whole entire life ever had short hair before. My hair was ALWAYS and has ALWAYS been long, therefore as you can tell, I am very attached to it. Shaving my head in my high school years when i'm most concern of what other people think of how i look today, would turn my world upside down, but whether or not it's worth it, it will be up to you; Whether or not lives can be, it will be up to you. You now hold the biggest decision power on saving someone's life, whether or not you want to do it, it will be up to you.

I'm shaving my head and starting a fundraising page, not for me, but for them, and I think you should donate too, not for me, but for them.

Shiray girl, at age of 15, you have a BIG BIG heart. Very soon you will grow pass this age, by then I shouldn’t address you as a girl, but a lady. I won’t go bald but I will support your noble idea to raise the awareness.
