My Story

Cuối tháng 4/2018 tôi có dịp đến Lombok để chinh phục đỉnh Rinjani và đi lặn ở đảo Gili. Lombok trong mắt tôi rất xinh đẹp, là nơi lý tưởng để bạn có kỳ nghỉ tuyệt vời vào dịp hè. Thế nhưng mọi thứ sụp đổ sau trận động đất kép 6.4 độ Richter ngày 29/07/2018 và 6,9 độ Richter ngày 05/08/2018. Các trận động đất đã cướp đi sinh mạng của 555 người, hơn 1.300 người bị thương và gần 353.000 người phải đi sơ tán. Thiệt hại ước tính là 7,7 nghìn tỷ rupiah (tương đương 528 triệu USD). Ngay sau khi nghe tin động đất tôi rất muốn quyên góp một phần để giúp đỡ người dân ở Lombok nhưng không biết hỗ trợ bằng cách nào.

Năm nay, Prudential hỗ trợ tái thiết hai ngôi làng ở Lombok bị ảnh hưởng bởi trận động đất. Hiện tại Prudential đang hỗ trợ tài chính cho việc xây dựng 102 ngôi nhà tạm thời, hai trường mẫu giáo, hai phòng cầu nguyện và sân bóng rổ. Prudential đang hợp tác với Posko Jenggala, một tổ chức phi chính phủ địa phương ở Indonesia để cung cấp viện trợ cho khu vực bị ảnh hưởng.
Thật may mắn, tôi được chọn tham gia Prudential Ride London 2019, chương trình này sẽ góp một phần cho những nỗ lực phục hồi lâu dài ở Lombok. Rất hy vọng các bạn có thể đóng góp thêm để tôi có thể đạt được số tiền tối thiểu 1000$ cho quỹ Posko Jenggala.

Have you traveled to Lombok Island, a small island among 44 provinces of Indonesia is located in east part of Indonesia next to Bali island? Do you know that Lombok suffered a 6.4 Richter earthquake on 29 July 2018 and another 6.9 Richter earthquake on 5 August 2018? These earthquakes took away the lives of 555 people, more than 1,300 people were injured and nearly 353,000 people were evacuated. The estimated loss is about 528 million USD.

Prudential is supporting the longer-term recovery efforts of two villages in Lombok impacted by the said earthquakes. This upcoming program is also part of the support announced last year to the longer-term recovery efforts in Lombok. The Foundation, together with Prudential Indonesia and Group Head Office, is providing financial support for the building of 102 temporary houses, two kindergartens, two prayer rooms and a basketball court. Prudential is working with Posko Jenggala, an local NGO in Indonesia, in providing aid to the affected region.
This year, I was luckily selected to join Prudential Ride London. Like any other participants, I am expected to raise minimum fund of USD1000 to Posko Jenggala for the purpose of partially contribution to the recovery in Lombok.
