I come from a very ordinary background but I always had more than I needed and often times I took it for granted. I would say it's never enough when in reality there are people with far bigger problems than I have. I visited a refugee centre for a college trip and it really made me realize how much I have. When I saw those children they were laughing and playing football and didn't care about what they had but I could tell they were very heart broken on the inside. From there I visited a couple other small villages and saw how people are living and families are living at less than what we spend in a day for an entire month. There are children who can't afford an education and children who don't have parents who can give them an education. I would personally like to help donate to this cause, help those children get an education, help put clothes on their back, help them in their daily life, help those affected by the corona virus who are going jobless and maybe even homeless. I want to help those who haven't wronged us but life just isn't their best suite. I want to make a difference by educating children and by helping families get back up on their feet so even they can be happy and smile. I once met a kid, I don't know where he came from but he was a very intelligent kid. I met him on the street and he came up to me. He tried to steal something from me but he was only 7. So i stopped him and asked him what he does and what he wants to be when he grows up. He said he wants to be a soldier when he grows up and I asked him what school does he go to and he said none. He said he can't afford school and that no matter what I give to him it's just an object because the biggest thing in life is love. He left after saying that and during our few minutes of conversation I wondered what he would be doing if he could get an education and could have a proper family to take care of him. I wondered and I decided I will help children fulfill their dreams, I will help kids get the things they cannot get and become who they have the potential to be. Someone very special came into my life and she motivated me to do good in this life and that's why I'm naming the fundraiser after her. So that I can do good by her name and bring a difference into others lives.
