My Story

A few months ago, I got assigned to visit World Vision's community in Zamboanga Del Norte. There, I met Bea and her family.

Bea lives in a remote area in Zamboanga. It took an hour long death defying habal-habal ride across buwis buhay terrain, and a one hour walk under scorching heat for us reach their humble kubo. To be honest, it felt like it was in the middle of nowhere.

Every year, Bea's family receives a Noche Buena gift pack from World Vision. They would walk for hours to reach the court where we hold distributions. Each gift pack consists of ingredients for spaghetti and fruit salad.

I wish I could explain how much a simple gift like this means to them. Spaghetti and fruit salad beats their usual meal of fried fish and ginisang gulay.

I'm writing this appeal because I saw how Bea's eyes lit up when we she was describing how it feels to receive a gift she can share with her family. And I had met other kids too. Like her, their eyes light up at the idea of eating something special on Christmas eve.

I'm trying to raise P10,000. Every P1,000 donation would provide 2 families with a Noche Buena Pack. If I hit my target that means 20 families will get a nice upgrade on their Christmas feast!

So if you have some money to spare from you Christmas bonus, I hope you'd take this chance to make these families happy. <3
