Planting and growing one tree can make a difference. But, imagine if it was an entire
community that planted trees – they can grow a FOREST! That’s what the Higaonon tribe of the
Dulangan Ancestral Domain is doing. And this is why I'm helping raise funds for them. Each year, they plant trees to regrow the forests in their ancestral land that have been degraded by logging concessions
and mining several years ago. We can help them too.

Where is the target reforestation area?
The target reforestation area is located in Awang, Opol, Misamis Oriental with an estimated land area of 4 hectares. Awang is part of the Dulangan Unified Ancestral Domain of a small Higaonon community. The area used to be forested. However, the influx of migrants due to mining denuded the forest for household use and eventually timber poaching. Prior to mining, the area was under a logging concession.
How many trees need to be planted?
A total of 6,000 trees need to be planted to cover the target area. The
community will need to plant the trees in 7 months. So, they need to
plant at least 100 trees twice per week.
At present, they have initially planted 200 trees and there are 2,000
seedlings available in the nursery.
How does it work?
We have partnered with the local organization in the community and send the pooled funds to them. In turn, they will schedule and organize the tree planting activity.
How do I know my trees are being planted?
When the tree planting activity takes place, we will send you an update with photos, videos and information provided by our reforestation partners. This will include details such as the tree species planted, community engagement, and ecological benefits.
How do you plant 3 trees for P1,000?
The P1,000 will ensure planting of 3 trees and this will include site preparations, maintaining it and monitoring.
