The WEEZ Project - Raising funds in memory of Jamie Bruno
Jamie was a vibrant, talented young man, creative and athletic, with a keen interest in social and political issues. He was a passionate and active member of the online street art and graffiti community where he was a well-known artist and contributor. He had everything to live for and was full of so much exciting potential. So sadly, this potential was cut short far too young when, out of the blue, he suddenly took his life. He is so deeply missed by his family, friends and the many whose lives he touched.
Weez was Jamie's tag.
Jamie designed a few sticker image which became ubiquitous to Weez. He placed them in many locations in Hong Kong and the UK as well as in other places he travelled to. He shared and traded the stickers with many people in the street art community and they can be seen in numerous locations across the world.
Help us raise funds in memory of Jamie to improve the well-being of young people in Hong Kong and invest in prevention initiatives that promote positive mental health in teens here.
All donations will go to the KELY Support Group (kely.org) in Jamie's name. Funding will:
- Provide a match fund for a peer support programme to be run at West Island School for 1 academic year to encourage help-seeking behaviour and train young people to know how to help their friends through social media
- Support the development of a youth-run social media platform for positive messaging on well-being, proactive promotion of teen mental health and support for young people.
- Bring together experts in HK to develop a mental health programme for international schools, with a special focus on suicide prevention for youth.
Please give generously and be a part of the support network for our youth in Hong Kong.
