MASCAre Fundraising Challenge (MFC)
It is an initiative within MASCAre 2021 to involve Malaysian students across Australia and Malaysia to participate as fundraisers and raise funds by doing a series of workout challenges based on the donation threshold ranging from RM30 to RM 350 and above. MFC is carried out with the objective of promoting good health whilst raising funds for Malaysian students who are enrolled in Australian universities, who are stranded in Malaysia and are currently facing financial difficulties.
MASCAre 2021
During this daunting period, many of our Malaysian students are unable to enter Australia due to the ongoing pandemic in Malaysia and the strict border controls in Australia, and as according to CISA Stranded Students Survey Outcome, some of the main challenges faced by stranded students include:
Lower learning quality and experience through online learning
Mental health issues
Financial impacts
Common causes are paying bills, storage for belongings and paying rent in Australia despite not being in the country
Students also stressed that tuition fee in Australian dollars without being able to earn supplemental income in Australia is a huge pressure
MASCA National hopes to provide monetary aid for our stranded Malaysian students who are facing financial hardships to reduce their burden during this pandemic period. MASCAre 2021 aims to collect MYR6,000/AUD2,000 from this crowdfunding initiative.
