About Event

Initiated by the Metta Welfare Association in 2007, Arts@Metta aims to equip special needs youths with life skills that promote integration, independence and employment. Our programmes enable them to continue their mastery of visual arts in a creative and inclusive environment, paving avenues for self expression and personal development. We provide a safety net for these youths who are unable to seek open employment by leveraging on commissioned projects and retail sales to help fund supported employment, thereby empowering them with hope and dignity.

Colours of Life presents an art exhibition put up by our Metta School alumni youths with special needs. Colours of Life resonates with the youths various background they come from and the challenges faced in their daily lives. Every alumni is faced with different challenges each day, be it home front or at work and they are all still learning to manage their emotions and adapting to these changes. Through the colours used in each art piece, it showcases their various moods and emotions from their daily lives.

We hope to raise funds through the sales of the art pieces showcased in this exhibition. The donations received will be used towards the development of the arts programme and also the possibility of working towards the arts certification for them.
