When you meet a patient diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer that has not recover since the past 2 years and she tells you that "I want to survive
”, what would you feel? Today I met this patient and I feel very sad. I hope everyone who came across this post could at least donate RM10 to help this little girl. RM10 might not mean much to you but it could help this little girl to live for another 2 years. I hope everyone could share this out. (MUST SHARE)

Dear all, every time I would share story on behalf of the patients that I met and we will only share 1 story at a time. But today, I would like to share a story of a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma patient in my own view. Because she told me that “I want to survive”. My reply to her is “You can do it”.

When she was only 9 years old, her parents divorced, leaving her with her father which is an OKU. Carmen was stopped from schooling 2 years ago when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was admitted in the hospital for the past 2 years. In this 2 years, her cancer cells from the lymph node has spread to the lungs and also abdominal. But she never gave up. In 2 years time, she bravely went through all sorts of different chemotherapy regimens and also stem cell transplant, but her condition does not show any improvement. On 8th of January, her hematologist informed her and family members that there is an advance drug (Brentuximab) which could help in her condition. The chance of recovery with this advance drug (Brentuximab) is up to 60%.

The hematologist informed that the drug is an advance drug which is not listed under the Ministry of Health Blue Book and therefore not subsidized by the government. The Hematologist informed that the drug costs about RM257,400 and it is not provided in the government hospital (with a letter of proof from the hematologist). The hospital has applied fund from government for Carmen’s treatment and thus she need to pay RM257,400 for the drug. The exact amount of the drug for the whole course of treatment is over then RM300,000. Why RM257,400? Carmen needs to undergo 9 cycles of treatment every 3 weekly, each cycles will need 2 vial of Brentuximab, and 2 vial costs RM28,000.

Hereby, I hope that the public can generously donate your RM10. With the power of the public, we can save the life of a little girl. If we could achieve the fund amount to cater for her drug, I hereby promise that during each time of her treatment, I will share her current condition in our page as to let everyone know how well is the brave little girl doing.

Thank you.
