About Event

This fundraising initiative is a collaboration between A Plus For Autism and Echo, a team with 7 Public Relations student from Taylor’s University.

The name of initiative, 'Audinary Campaign' was inspired by a project series under Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities that aims to raise public awareness toward Autism community. With the tagline: “The ordinary is possible for every children with Autism”.

Key Objectives:

  • To raise public awareness on Autism community in order to increase the positive acceptance from community
  • To raise a total of RM 7,000 for A+ For Autism in order to sponsor autistic kids on getting animal therapy treatment
Key Messages:
  • Autism’s Prevalence in Malaysia
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability that typically occurs during the first three years of life due to a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain. Autism affects the way an individual learns, communicates and how they experience the world around them in different ways. Today, it is estimated that 1 in 68 newborns in Malaysia is diagnosed with autism and it is four more times common in boys than girls.
  • Awareness of ASD in Malaysia Community
Autism is a common disability faced by children and yet according to a survey from Malaysian Digest, only 4 of 10 Malaysians know what autism really is. It is importance to increase the understanding and public acceptance towards individuals with autism spectrum disorder through awareness, education, inclusiveness and advocacy.
  • Needs of Animal Therapy
Animal-therapy involves the interaction between a therapy dog or cat with an autistic child. According to a study done by the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, it is proven that animal therapy can help autistic children to learn empathy and improve communication and social skills. It can also be used to help them to manage their behaviour. However, the average costs of therapy is insanely high and not every family is able to afford it. Hence, Audinary aims to raise funds to help more children with autism to get animal therapy treatments.
  • Audinary envisions an awesome world where children with autism can feel love, accepted and ordinary.
