In Malaysia, only 16% (874) of refugee children aged 14-17 are enrolled in secondary education. Most of the refugee children will not continue to high school due to financial and social barriers.

Ideas Academy is providing a solution

Ideas Academy is a secondary learning centre for underprivileged children, including refugee, stateless and undocumented children. Our primary aim is that every child between 12 and 18 years old should gain a strong foundation in secondary education so that they grow up becoming responsible, confident and compassionate citizens of tomorrow. Ideas Academy provides holistic learning using the Cambridge curriculum, as well as a life skill programme and extra-curricular activities to develop our students' soft skills. We started in 2014 with a class of 24 students and we have over 125 students at the moment.

Meditate and Move for Mindfulness with Adeleena

Adeleena instagram.com/adeleena/?hl=en has stepped up to offer 3 online charity classes on 6, 8, and 11 June on Zoom to help raise funds for refugees:

  • 6 June Yin Yoga | 5-6 PM
  • 8 June Vinyasa Yoga | 6:15-7:15 PM
  • 11 June Meditation class in collaboration with Heart Sanctuary | 7:30-8:30 PM
Adeleena is a passionate self-employed yoga teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience, more than 10 years of experience in practicing yoga, and a big heart for the underprivileged community. Thanks to Adeleena's generous support, we are able to continue providing education to the underprivileged. Besides this, the raised funds allow us to distribute food and other necessities to refugee children getting their main meal from school.

Please follow the steps below to sign up for the classes:

1.      Donate a minimum of RM 20 for 1 class, RM 40 for 2 classes, or RM 60 for 3 classes.

2.     Send a screenshot of the donation to [email protected] with your
        desired class date(s).

3.     Receive your exclusive Zoom link(s) via e-mail.

How will your donation help us?

A donation of:

RM 5 will provide one meal to one student per day.

RM 100 will provide food for one student’s family for 2 weeks.

RM 250 will provide food for one student’s family for 1 month.

RM 1000 will help us to grow our team of qualified teachers.

No matter how big or small, any donation is significant and appreciated. Your kind donation will enable us to bring the power of education to more underprivileged children and help them go one step further towards a brighter future.
