Pro Bono HK provides free legal assistance to the most marginalised and disadvantaged people in our community, so they can access their legal rights. 

Our face-to-face clinic services are currently only available in Sham Shui Po, but with your help we hope to expand it to provide our services for all people in Hong Kong. 

You can help us increase the availability of our services to more disadvantaged members of the public by contributing to our Access to Justice Fund. This Fund will be used to meet the costs of running the legal clinics, including the facilities which we use to house its operations and, importantly, also to pay for the forthcoming professional indemnity insurance premiums for the expanded talent pool of volunteer solicitors at the clinic. It is crucial that pro bono clients have equivalent protection to paying clients, so we are actively fundraising for forward insurance premiums as we expand our service. The estimated insurance premiums to cover the expanded pool of solicitors is in excess of $200,000 per year. Therefore, we need your help to build up our Access to Justice Fund. Please contribute generously, so we can help more people.  

To ensure our service is for the most marginalised and disadvantaged, rest assured that our assistance is subject to strict criteria, and therefore all clients and matters are subject to both a means and merits test. Our services also do not overlap with those that could be serviced by Legal Aid, the Duty Lawyer Scheme, the FLAS or other publicly funded services as our services work collaboratively with those.
