Your budget may be tight. But it is probably still enough to get a coffee sometimes. Today, instead of getting a coffee, donate the value of the drink to UN Women to empower women and girls!
My Story
But still, I can afford the luxury of getting a coffee at the library every once in a while, or to meet a friend in a café on the weekend or to grab a coffee on the go after a long night of studying.
Many others cannot. Many other young women do not even have enough to eat or to afford education. Because their parents can't afford tuition fees and books. Because they're forced to get married young to men they've never met. Because menstruation stigmas and a lack of sanitation facilities at schools force them to stay at home. They may not be able to afford an education, let alone coffee, but these women and girls still have the same dreams that you have, too.
Today, rather than getting your usual coffee, donate the value of your favorite hot drink to UN Women to empower women and girls in Asia and the Pacific so that they, too, can follow their dreams. Whether it is a 1$ made-at-home coffee or a 4$ Chai Latte - it is just one coffee less for you, but it is a whole world of opportunities for them!
