This year's birthday, I'd like to make a difference by raising money for a cause close to my heart. Please support by donating.

My Story

I'm a Malaysian girl from Ampang who went to school in Lai Meng and then Chong Hwa, and eventually went to college in London and grad school in the US. I'm now a psychologist practicing in Florida in the USA, providing counseling services to college students. As most of the world is probably witnessing, issues of social injustice and political unrest have been on the rise in the US in recent years. With this backdrop, I continue to develop and shape my identity as a person and an early career professional. Issues of mental health and social justice have grown to become a cause that is very important to me. 

Something I personally grapple with is my distance from home, and as a result my inability to directly contribute to my own community back home, as I continue to live and work in the US. So for my birthday this year, I would like to raise funds for Yayasan Chow Kit, a 24-hour crisis and drop-in centre providing meals, activities, therapy, case management, ​and educational programmes for at-risk children of Chow Kit, an area in central Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
