My Story

With the recent flooding and other natural disasters in Myanmar, I feel extremely bad to see that many of our countrymen are unable to protect themselves or their children from drowning. Even in the city of Yangon, there are many high-risk areas where young kids need to cross the river to go to school, thus subjecting themselves every single day to the danger of drowning.

I cannot just watch and see the statistics of death by drowning go up year by year. Help me raise funds to support this brave and forward-thinking young organization in Myanmar that have started training local coaches and running Learn-to-Swim program for children residing in these high-risk places.

Pyit Tain Taung Play for Life Foundation has been doing amazing things in lesser privileged areas and I believe that it is my duty as a citizen to support and uphold causes like theirs. On top of the swimming lessons, they have been running Play caravan sessions where children can also learn English and other life skills. The playgrounds they have been building from recycled things are also inspiring (and cool!). Plus, their focus on training the local people on how to facilitate these types of learnings gives me a great hope on the possible changes in the quality of education in the future.

Join me and together, let's ensure that their programs stay alive and continue growing to influence more children in Myanmar. Visit their website www.pyittaintaung.org or Facebook page facebook.com/PTTplayforlife if you wish to know more about what they are doing as a local nonprofit organization.

PS

Pyit Tain Taung Foundation have officially completed

their first training for local swim coaches

headed by a foreign trainer.

I know that they are scheduling another

batch of trainees to continuously build up

the local talent pool. Please contact them if you or you know someone who might want to join the next batch of training for coaches.

The first round of Learn to Swim program will officially start September 7 and will run for 12 sessions. I will post photos as they happen. Help me raise this fund so that they can continue running this program as well as their other activities.
