My Story
Over the last few years I’ve been lucky enough to go on some pretty epic adventures. Whether it’s living and travelling in the developing world and participating in community projects with school groups for a job (yes a real job) or following some personal pursuits such as smashing my goal to ride 750km and raise $750 in October 2018 for the Great cycle challenge (thanks again to the amazing people who donated).
Spending two weeks cycling 1000km along the Munda biddi trail or completing a 100km race with no training for either of those trips.
Realising how much I’ve grown personally from these adventures and how much happiness people can gain from doing things for others, I’m looking to take on my next challenge.
Surf coast century 100km race 2.0. This time i’m going to do some training and I’m setting myself a goal to do it in under 16hrs which would take off more than 4hrs from my time last year. I’m also using it as a chance to try to raise money for a cause that is doing amazing things.
That brings me to Fuze Ecoteer.
Their aim is to connect people with nature.
They are based in Malaysia and run sub branded conservation projects including Perhentian Turtle Project, Perhentian Marine Research Station and Perhentian Eco Education project. They also run Upcycled by FE which focuses on upcycling ocean and river plastics.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with them on the Perhentian Turtle project and in Merapoh. I was supposed to head back to Merapoh at the end of last year but Covid changed that.
Obviously everyone’s doing it tough but if you can help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated (every little donation will help reach the goal and if you are doing it tough financially maybe you could simply share or write a letter to your local council asking them to make a donation).
