Set up in loving memory of ten-year-old Sunshine, who moved to Love Kuching Project from the Serangoon neighbourhood in January 2019. Sunshine required long-term palliative care and a safe boarding space due to her growing and incurable liver tumour. Sunshine spent 6 wonderful months surrounded by the love and care of our volunteers, as well as her community rescuers. She found her favourite snoozing spots in the cattery, and remained enthusiastic about treats until the very end. Sunshine has since crossed over the rainbow bridge on 1 July 2019.
The Sunshine Palliative Care Kitty Fund will provide for the daily needs of other short and long term-palliative care cats just like Sunshine, who are are boarding at Love Kuching Project. Suffering from incurable conditions and unable to fend for themselves in the community, these cats will be cared for until they pass away on their own, or are suffering and no longer able to meet quality of life standards.
Stay tuned to our social media updates on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about the other palliative care cats featured in our photo gallery. See if you can spot Sunshine's friends! Love Kuching began as a ground up initiative to care for the medical needs of stray cats in the Ubi area. Today, we have expanded our services to include cats from all neighbourhoods in Singapore. Just like Sunshine’s rescuer and feeders, our volunteers and donors also come from all walks of life.. including different races, religions, jobs, ages and national origins!
We would love to become even more connected to the cat-lovin’ community in Singapore and abroad! As you make a donation, feel free to leave a comment sharing interesting facts about yourself (e.g. background, community cats or neighbourhood) with us too!
