About Appeal

Children from low-income families living in rental flats get a leg-up from the Singapore Red Cross' who have been working with the community in Yishun to provide tuition and story reading through its Young Hearts programme. We believe with the right environment, children who are disadvantaged in their studies will probably be able to do better at school.

Apart from providing food vouchers to low-income families, SRC's Community Resilience stepped in to provide more holistic Family LifeAid from 2019, helping children and youth in Singapore, with their enrichment and education needs.

Running this programme would be well over $150,000 for SRC annually. $62,800 will help 40 children between Primary 3 to Primary 6 in 2021 gain access to paid tuition (English, Math and Science) alone for a year. Funds will also go into providing accessibility to technology such as laptops and wifi for continued digital learning.

From as low as $20 a child will receive tuition lessons once a week for 1 month.

With the challenges of needing smaller groups and lack of space. Our frontline colleagues and volunteers continue to work tirelessly to serve the community even amidst COVID-19.

There is an urgent need for space, if you are able to help please email: [email protected]
