About Appeal

BEES Elephant Foundation – BEF seeks to pay off the purchase of land in the town of Maechaem and create a permanent location so we can continue to provide much needed support for the animals and the community.

BEES Elephant Foundation - BEF is a Non-Profit, established in November 2015. The objective of BEF is to improve the welfare of both the Asian Elephant and other animals in Thailand with a focus on rescue, high welfare, education and projects that benefit the communities that live and work with them. Since BEF was established we have seen firsthand the need for education and Domestic Animal Outreach Services in the area of Maechaem. We have been working to provide free spay/neuter clinics with Loop Abroad since Feb 2017 and supporting BEES – Burm and Emily’s Elephant Sanctuary in their efforts to provide de-flea/worming, vaccinations and basic medical care, assisting owners with emergency care for their animals and taking them into Chiang Mai in severe cases. The clinics and outreach programs take place in our rented Office location which is the legal address registered for the Foundation. Unfortunately, the lease at BEF’s current rental location has come to an end and the owners have notified us that we need to move out by the last week in February 2020 as they need the space. This means BEF must move locations and change the Foundations legal registered address. In our little town we struggled to find a suitable rental location to meet the needs of our spay/neuter clinics and planned programs. It is our dream to provide the town of Mae Chaem, with an Animal Hospital, the first of its kind in the area. In the best interests of the animals and the growth of our work we have found a permanent location for the Foundation so we can continue to provide much needed support for the animals and the community without any further setbacks. Our fundraising efforts are for funds to assist in paying off thw purchase of the land and to help us build a secure location for the Foundation, constructing a suitable building for our Spay/Neuter clinics and over the next few years work to expand on the construction, seek veterinary equipment and turn the site in to a fully functional Animal Hospital with full time Veterinary staff. With a clinic site in Mae Chaem, we will be able to continue to offer services to the local animals to ease pain and suffering. The construction of a clinic would allow for us to continue on our mission to help the animals of Mae Chaem in need. The construction of the clinic would also support the community by using local tradesmen and be fitted out with proper walls and flooring for hygiene control, ventilation, lighting, electricity and plumbing.
