About Appeal

Hi, I have signed up to go climb Kilimanjaro in Tanzania over Chinese New Year. I will start on Feb 2nd and finish on Feb 9th....hopefully!!! I want to raise awareness of the suicide issues that we see in Hong Kong and all over the world. In Hong Kong, we especially hear of too many cases relating to teenage and young adult suicide due to school pressure and stress over exams. I hope to raise some funds to support two charities that work towards suicide prevention ...

1. Samaritans Befrienders, based here in Hong Kong. It is a local NGO voluntary agency which provides counselling services to people with suicidal tendencies or behaviour. See more information in this link https://www.sbhk.org.hk/?lang=en.

2. Pieta House, based in Ireland. They deal with suicide prevention and counselling for those bereaved by suicide. The annual Darkness into Light event at locations across Ireland and the world act as a fundraiser for the charity. See link https://dil.pieta.ie/thank-you
I hope to raise between 20,000 - 30,000 HKD that I can divide evenly between the two charities.
Any help or support you can give would be greatly appreciated.
