The world has witnessed more than 1,500 people who have died in the last few weeks as a result of flooding and landslides that have devastated parts of northern India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Millions of people have been displaced across the region, and unfortunately, the governments alone do not have enough resources to rebuild the affected areas.
Habitat for Humanity International, together with Habitat Hong Kong, is appealing for your support. Your donation, which will be matched automatically by Bloomberg, will be used to provide assistance to the victims of South Asia floods through our offices in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
Nepal: Emergency Phase 1: 300 flood affected families (200 in East and 100 in West) will be assisted with emergency shelter and WASH items. 400 (300 in East and 100 in West) volunteers and PASSA Group members will be mobilized to support 200 families for community cleaning and flood waste management to help the survivors restart their normal lives.
India: 6,000 families will be provided with Humanitarian Aid Kits and Family Essential Kits.
Bangladesh: Distribution of transitional shelter kits to severely affected families
Please think about how you can help the people in South Asia in this challenging time.
Habitat for Humanity International Asia-Pacific office is based in Metro Manila, Philippines. Donations will be transferred to Nepal, India, and Bangaldesh offices.
