About Appeal

Mr Gande is 76 years old and he could be the face of rural poverty in Malawi. He’s a farmer, who has always survived day to day by growing his own food, but after suffering a back injury, it has become more and more difficult to live off his land. He has to crawl to get around. Using crutches is not as easy for him. 

He lives in a small mud house, poorly constructed, with a roof made out of grass, plastics and corrugated metal sheets which are almost falling apart. His house is in a distress condition and is not  a suitable living condition for someone with health issues. 

To give him a proper roof it will cost at least $600. His house does not have a floor and this will cost a few bags of cement to give him at a price of $300. His house has 2 windows that are missing, covered by cardboard boxes. To get these windows it will cost about $200.

All in all the total cost including transporting of these goods and labor will cost at total of $1600
