Our little lady Lao Lao came to us after neighbours could no longer bear seeing her tied up, neglected, and ignored. They pleaded with the owner to release her and brought her to TAILS. She is a sweet, gentle girl who has learned to ask for nothing and not make a fuss as no one cared anyway.
In her foster home, Lao Lao is slowly blossoming. She has been soaking up the attention and snuggles her foster humans are giving her, and has been taken under the furry wing of the resident dog. She loves finally being able to walk around, sniff, play, chase, and run free.
Unfortunately, after a few weeks of pure bliss, the next bad news has hit. The vet found lumps around the mammary glands of Lao Lao - a common occurrence in non-desexed females who have had several litters. He booked her for surgery immediately for fear the growths could spread further.
Lao Lao is a brave little girl and came through the surgery well, although some of her nipples needed to be removed along with the tumors. She has been recovering courageously and despite the pain and confusion, has been giving nothing but love and kisses to her foster family.
The growths are being tested and fingers crossed, they are not cancerous. While we wait for the results in the three weeks time, we are trying to get on top of our vet bills - Lao Lao's bill is only one of many and she is likely to need further check ups and aftercare.
Please help us support her on this journey. She really deserves to see all the happiness life has to offer to her! If you have any time or cash to spare, please please donate toward the bills and spread the word. We love our little Lao Lao face and we want to see her healthy, strong, and joyful - maybe in her very own forever home soon?
