Personal Challenge

From 4th to 17th June 2016, 5 of us (Wan Jia Wei, Ah Siao Lim from Singapore, Allan Lee, Lee Chun How and Ng Seow Kong from Malaysia) will be running from Padang Besar, a northern border town at Thailand-Malaysian border for 14 days towards the Johor Bahru custom which is right at the border with Singapore.Call it border to border run, or as we call it, the Trans Peninsular run. The total distance is about 880km, and the average distance per day is about 63km per day for 14 days. Each day, we will start running at 4am, and complete the sectors for the day before taking the rest of the days off for recovery and sleeping. We will start at the same point where we stop the previous day. There are therefore 14 sectors to run in 14 days. Details of each sectors have been posted. We intend to raise fund for charity - "Kencara Soup Kitchen", please support us to Kencara soup kitchen. We invite all interested runners to join us in some or even all of these sectors. T shirts and certificates will be provided to the runners. This run is totally self funded by the 5 core runners. Please visit our website www.endurancenature.com.my for more information. We are making a difference by raising money for a cause close to our heart. Please support us by donating.

5 of us love running.

Sometimes we run fast. Most of the times though, we run far.

880km of Trans Peninsular is far. Would it be too far for us?

That’s what 5 of us are going to find out in the next 14 days as we set off from the northern border with Thailand to the southern border with Singapore.

From Padang Besar to Johor Bahru.

We believe we can make it.

Running is almost like our basic needs.

For those who are uncertain of when and what their next meal is going to be, running is not their basic need. They are the homeless and the urban poor.

Because we can run, 5 of us decides to raise fund through this Run for Kechara Soup Kitchen (http://www.kechara.com/soup-kitchen), a non-religious community action group that distributes food, basic medical aid and counseling to the homeless and urban poor of Malaysia.
