Over three days, AccorHotels teams will cycle from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. They will visit the beneficiaries of non-governmental organizations committed to raising awareness of and overcoming inequalities related to five Diversity & Inclusion pillars: disabilities, gender, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender), generations and culture.
These NGOs include Ecole Paul Dubrule whose mission is to train and qualify young Cambodians to contribute towards sustainable tourism in Cambodia. Paul Dubrule, founder of Ecole Paul Dubrule and co-founder of AccorHotels, says, "We want everyone, without distinction of gender or social background, to have access to education and professional training, while encouraging mutual social acceptance and understanding. I believe that training and qualifications are the key to the future of each individual."
Among those non-governmental organizations is also Friends-International working with marginalised children and youth, their families and communities to help position them to become independent and productive citizens of their countries.
To assist in managing the journey on Cambodian roads, AccorHotels has partnered with Social Cycles, which hosts small group adventures for cyclists with a social conscience. The organisation engages local experts to illuminate social issues and strategies; to make a positive difference; and to open minds.
