About Appeal

Nathan, who is just 14 months old, was abandoned by his biological parents and is currently being raised by his grandmother in Selayang.

Even though Nathan was born in Malaysia, he does not possess a birth certificate. While his biological mother was pregnant with Nathan, she had arranged to give him up to a Malaysian couple who wanted a child of their own. However, when it was discovered upon his birth that Nathan suffered from serious health problems, the couple changed their minds about adopting Nathan, leaving him without any mother or father, nor any vital documents.

Though he is a very cheerful boy, Nathan is behind in his development for babies his age due to brain, heart, and liver complications. He is smaller in size than average, suffers from jaundice, has trouble sitting up on his own, and cannot yet talk.

However, because he does not have papers to prove that he is Malaysian, Nathan is unable to receive government assistance to subsidize the cost of treatment for his medical conditions.

Nathan's family does not have enough money to bear the financial burdens of his medical treatments. Nathan and his grandmother are being supported by her father, who is already 70 years old and who earns only 900RM-1200RM a month as a security guard. His salary is insufficient to support the whole household, which consists of 3 other grandchildren.

YCK is working hard to get Nathan a birth certificate so that he can seek medical treatment and have a normal childhood. In the meanwhile, however, Nathan urgently needs your help!

YCK would like to raise RM10,000 for Nathan to receive vital heart and liver treatment while he waits for his birth certificate to be issued.

YCK seeks to protect the rights of all at-risk children and youth, provide them with safe havens, and expose them to as many positive and holistic opportunities as possible to enable them to reach their full potential. We help the children and families we serve by raising funds through Simply Giving. 100% of your donation will go directly to the recipient.
