About Appeal

The Philippines is susceptible to typhoons and weather-related calamities that often result in displacement of individuals, families, and communities. According to the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Philippines is on the top 5 list of disaster-prone countries as it was hit by at least 274 typhoons and other natural disasters between 1995 and 2015.

In the midst of climate change, the statistics continue to rise. More Filipinos have experienced harsh and even fatal conditions brought about by recent weather-related calamities like Typhoons Haiyan (Yolanda), Bopha (Pablo), Rammasun (Glenda), and Ketsana (Ondoy). Even monsoon rains have been causing damage and displacement in the past few years.

During and after disasters, safe drinking water consistently lists as one of the most crucial necessities that affected communities lack. Help us address this issue by donating to fund future disaster responses. Your donation will enable displaced families to have access to potable water that will aid in preventing waterborne diseases that are prevalent in evacuation centers and shelters.

By sharing what you can, you will be able to decrease the vulnerability of calamity affected Filipinos. Your kind gesture will go a long way and may even translate to survival for some.
