My sister
Minnie Jane "Jheng" Reli Villaflores had a kidney transplant surgery
on June 30, 2013. But now, she is in deep pain and her health is also severely
failing. Jheng has been confined in the hospital since August 15, 2018 and her
common body electrolytes dropped drastically for the first time since the
transplant. She is currently receiving dialysis at St. Luke’s Hospital to
remove the excess water and toxins from her blood. This procedure is helping Jheng’s
fluids and electrolytes in balance. She also had blood transfusions due to low hemoglobin count.
Jheng is
married with two small children, a 7-year old girl and a 6 year-old boy. She
has a husband that runs a small junk shop business that can only cover their
basic needs and children's schooling. Our family financed Jheng's kidney transplant
5 years ago. We are also continuously supporting her with the post-kidney transplant
medications.
Life
after the transplant hasn’t been easy for my sister and for the rest of the
family as well. From 2014 up to present, she was in and out of the hospital. Last May 2017, Jheng was confined to the hospital because she got so sick for almost a month due to kidney related complications. We were relieved when she got well during that time and
prayed so hard not to have another. However, this August – just 3 days before
her 39th birthday (August 18), she was confined again due to kidney infections.
The
entire family is praying so hard once more that the dialysis would work because
if at any moment that her body fully rejected the first kidney transplant, a
second one would be needed. We want Jheng to have another chance to live that
is why as early as now, we are also looking for a possible donor that can help
my sister.
I am now
knocking on your hearts and humbly asking for your support as our current
status cannot do so due to dwindling resources. Any amount that you can give to
my sister is greatly appreciated. Please also include Jheng in your thoughts
and prayers.
All
proceeds of this medical fundraising campaign will be used for her medications
and also for her second kidney transplant operation. We still believe that
Jheng deserves another chance to live. We are also very hopeful that she can
win this battle against chronic kidney disease.
Thank you
so much for taking the time to read this and God bless us all.

UPDATE: March 30, 2019
We would like to thank everyone who have contributed for my sister's online appeal. At this moment, Jheng is into dialysis twice a week and continuously taking her medications since the amount we have gathered from the donations and the money we save is still insufficient for a kidney transplant in National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), a government-owned and tertiary medical specialty center for renal health. We are still hoping that she will have a kidney transplant anytime soon. Thank you so much for your help and prayers. We are very grateful for your support. God bless us all.
