Ruck, Catherine, Andy and Matt are going to attempt to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong on February 5th. 100km feels quite a long
way - especially when matched with over
4,366m elevation - similar to that of hiking from sea level to the Matterhorn in the Alps! We will
complete the full 100km together, starting early morning on February 5th 2021 and finishing in the early hours of the next day.
Charities and those whom rely on their generosity have been some of the hardest hit due to Covid-19. So we are raising funds for 2 local charities in Hong Kong, Mind HK and Mother's Choice, that are close to our hearts, with donations raised split equally between them. We are hugely grateful for any contributions people feel comfortable giving.
According to Mind HK's research (September 2020) , over 50% of Hong Kong residents believe their mental worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic . Money raised through this campaign will support the translation and adaptation of resources on mental health during COVID-19. This is to ensure we can get timely and relevant information to individuals to help them manage their mental health through the pandemic.
The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has also created a large hole in Mother's Choice traditional fundraising activities. It will continually need funds to keep its doors open to support those who need help most - vulnerable children without families and pregnant teenagers in HK. We want to support Mother's Choice vision, which is "to see every child in a loving family". Funds donated here will also be used to purchase mosquito repellent machines, and cots with mattresses for their Child Care Home.
