About Event

We have fully raised S$2,490 for Mr Lee. Thank you for all your generous donations! To help other ROHI recipients: http://www.simplygiving.com/NonProfit/2ddc4817-1175-49a8-b220-bd09b1e59f34 If any money is collected in excess of the target, it will be channelled to other recipients. We will also be updating on this case in the near future.

Mr Lee Kar Choon was on the way to work on his motorbike on 20 July at Woodlands, when a tree branch fell and hit him. He fell on his right side, and even though he was wearing a helmet, he sustained serious head injuries. Mr Lee has been in the intensive car unit at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital since the accident, and doctors are unsure at whether or not he will regain consciousness. He has fractures in his chin, jaw and nose, and is likely to lose sight in the right eye. Doctors estimate that Mr Lee will be under close observation for another month at the hospital.

Mr Lee's wife, Madam Cai, has been keeping vigil over her husband, along with their 2-year-old daughter and Mr Lee's mother. Mr Lee used to shuttle from Johor Bahru to Singapore daily for work. At the moment, Madam Cai and their 2-year-old daughter are staying in the hospital at the guest seating area and Mr Lee's mother is helping to take care of their young child. The family is visibly tired. Mr Lee's older sister has a home in Choa Chu Kang and the family commutes there occasionally to take their rest. Mr Lee was the sole breadwinner and supported the family with his S$1,500 monthly salary. ROHI is looking at how else to help the family.

As we work out more details and speak to members of the family on how else we can help, ROHI is helping raise S$600 per month for 3 months to help the family defray daily meals and transport costs. We are also helping to raise S$230 per month for 3 months for their daughter's diapers and milk powder.

ROHI aims to make a difference to individuals and/or families, to help them on the path to becoming self-reliant so that they can gradually get back into the usual routine. ROHI helps our recipients raise funds through Simply Giving. Our Founder and Board of Directors cover the administrative and operating costs of ROHI so that your donation is 100% efficient and goes directly to the recipient.  If any money is collected in excess of the target, it will be channelled to other recipients.
