Angkor Hospital for Children is a non-profit paediatric teaching hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Since establishment in 1999, we have provided more than 1,500,000 free medical treatments to children in need. Our vision is that all Cambodian children have access to quality compassionate medical care whatever their ability to pay.
More than a hospital - treatment education and prevention are at the heart of everything we do. With community outreach programmes in rural areas and strategic partnerships across the globe Angkor Hospital for Children is working to make a lasting improvement in child health locally as well as globally.
Although the standard of living is steadily improving, Cambodians continue to suffer from endemic poverty. Many of the preventable illnesses we see on a daily basis at Angkor Hospital for Children are symptoms of deep-rooted poverty: everything from lack of decent shelter, scarcity of clean water, or lack of nutritious food and sanitation all contributes to illnesses and disease.
