World Vision Philippines

In 2018, Victor Consunji and Enrico Menichetti ran the extra mile for the benefit of children in need by joining the 2018 Marathon Des Sables in Morocco. Coined 'the toughest foot race on earth', the race pushed them to the limits. But through the support of their friends and family, Victor and Enrico were able to finish the race strong, and raise enough funds to provide water facilities, school supplies, and proper nutrition to children in Bohol, Malabon, and Batangas.Inspired by their previous success and armed with the motivation to help more children, Victor and Enrico are joining the 2019 Fire + Ice Ultra Marathon in support of World Vision's 1000 Girls Campaign to empower girls to achieve their dreams through education.Dubbed as Iceland’s Toughest Multi-Terrain Foot Race, the trail run includes 250 km of lava fields, volcanic ash, sand dunes and boiling mud pools. As Victor and Enrico get closer to the finish line, children will also get a step closer to reaching their dreams. The impact of your donation:   PHP 1000 (USD 20) guarantees that two children will have new learning kits for the school year PHP 3000 (USD 60) ensures that children have access to clean water, and good hygiene and sanitation facilities within their school PHP 5000 (USD 100) will contribute to making sure that classrooms are fully functional and have adequate facilities to promote positive learning experience to children PHP 9000 (USD 180) will already sponsor a girl for one year, providing her and her community with life-changing basics like education, health and nutrition, livelihood, disaster risk reduction capabilities, child protection initiatives, and spiritual nurture programs Race details: Distance: 250+ kms (156+ miles); Terrain: Flat, Mountains, Hills; Weather: Cold, wet, Duration: 6 Days Technical rating: 10About 1000 Girls Campaign1000 Girls is a global movement of World Vision that aims to address gender discrimination, and empower girls living in areas affected by poverty to live life to the fullest through the child sponsorship program. Angkor Hospital for Children

Hello there friends & family, Even though there have been some vast improvements to healthcare in Cambodia over the last two decades many health challenges remain for children. Nearly half of all children in Cambodia are suffering from malnutrition, which makes them more vulnerable to illnesses, many of which are preventable. On top of that, quality, affordable health is limited especially in rural areas where 80% of families still live in poor conditions. That is why as many as 500 families travel across the country every single day to AHC, to receive free, high quality healthcare, like nowhere else in Cambodia. We are running to not only improve healthcare for Cambodia’s children but to help AHC transform it. Please donate to help us reach our fundraising target. Every donation counts!

Angkor Hospital for Children

After living for over four years in beautiful Cambodia, where myself and the family experienced incredible generosity and built lasting friendships, the one thing I always missed out on was running the Angkor Wat Half Marathon. As some of you know, I ran several other Half’s (Sihanoukville, Bokhor, Phnom Penh), and even a multi-day race that took me to parts I’d never imagine visiting, but due to scheduling conflicts never did the famed Angkor Wat. But I want to give forward and raise money for the Angkor Hospital for Children. An incredible charity that has made a huge difference in Cambodia. Please support by donating. It can be $100 or $1, it doesn’t matter. I want to exceed the target if I can.

Asia Community Service

This programme aims to produce a young global volunteer who dare to accomplish a mission across border, we found out that there is a village where most of the families there will have one or two disable family members, it really teared us apart to know they had to survive life with those condition. So, we came up with an idea of spending our mid-semester break doing a little community service there as to provide them with education, medical assistance and so on as to ease their life for a week. Through this programme, it will educate the students involved of how importance for us to give back to society who needs and seek our help even though they live in somewhere we dont even know exisr.

Friends-International

I am very excited to be doing my very first individual fundraiser - running the 10k Angkor Wat Marathon-  for an organization I believe in. Friends International (FI) works with children, youth and their families to become functional, productive members of their society by saving lives and building futures.Being a part of FI has inspired me to try and personally raise money for the organization. Key reason is that we directly protect children from all types of violence and work directly with the most marginalized groups to prevent family separation and ensure they have access to services, including safe employment, that enable them to thrive. Seeing the impact daily and knowing for certain that money is not lost in bureaucracy and administration but really goes to saving and changing lives, is why I am confident to reach out and ask you to donate for the cause. Examples of what your money will do:- $5: a backpack for a child to go to school- $25: full school kit for a child- $50: job-readiness training for 40 young people- $120: healthcare for a student for a year- $250: all material and support for a mother to start her own micro-enterprise to feed her familyThank you all !Kirsty
