Yellow House

Yellow House, a local grassroots NGO, has been working with marginalised, vulnerable communities since 2011. In order to have maximum impact, Yellow House thoroughly assesses the needs of these communities to match them with existing opportunities. Over the years, Yellow House has touched the lives of thousands of beneficiaries and in the process have developed a deep understanding of the needs of these communities who often rely on daily/weekly wages to make ends meet. With the pandemic outbreak happening around the world, Project S.O.U.P aims to ensure that there are food on the table for more than 200 underprivileged families, including the elderly and refugees. We will start delivering care packages to families in Ampang, and gradually expand our support to those in need in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Our aim is to ensure that everyone has food on their table - one family at a time.Funds raised will be used to send monthly care packages to more than 200 families. Care packages include basic necessities and food.[Update @ 15 April 2020]Thank you for your generous support to date!As the MCO continues to be extended, more and more families are reaching out to us for help. In response, we are extending our fund-raising campaign and increasing our target to reach up to 700 families. Based on their needs and family composition, we are adding infant milk, diapers and feminine hygiene products to the food care packages. Any contribution, big or small, will help these households get through this trying time.Check out our efforts at:Web: https://yellowhousekl.com/ngoFB: https://www.facebook.com/yellowhouseklIF: https://www.instagram.com/yellowhouseklFor corporate sponsorship, please contact Shyam at 018-367 4852.

Abdi is a 2 year old Somalian boy who is in need of a liver transplant and needs urgent attention. He also has another younger sister who is 1 month old, and his parents are in need of support for his surgery. I first met Abdi through his dad, as he was looking to be a chef with PichaEats to support his family. Abdi's mother is currently looking after him and his sister at home.Currently, he is only depending on monthly medication and his condition restricts him from breathing normally. The doctor only gives Abdi months to live without the transplant. This surgery will save his life and give him a second chance to grow up.Dr Hartini Zainudin and Syed Azmi are also currently working on this case right now and we would appreciate all the help and support we can get.

Meet Our Team: Two Boys on a Mission to EmpowerHello! We are two passionate volunteers who have been working with Small Changes since 2022 and 2023. Our names are Arash and Idham, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. Our journey with Small Changes began when we first volunteered for one of their empowerment camps. The experience was life-changing, not only for the participants but also for us. We saw young girls gain confidence, develop leadership skills, and build lasting friendships. It was then that we realized the profound impact such programs can have on individuals and communities. This year, we're taking our commitment a step further by launching a fundraising initiative to support Small Changes' upcoming Girls in Action camp. We're setting a goal to raise RM 400, and to make it fun and engaging, we will be running 1 km for every RM 10 donated. We believe that every small change can lead to a big impact, and with your support, we can help create a brighter future for these young girls. Join us on this journey and help us make a difference, one step at a time.Thank you for being part of our story and supporting this important cause!

"Sweet Kindness" began with a simple idea: small gestures can make a big difference. Inspired by the joy of receiving an unexpected note and treat during a tough time, we started leaving encouraging notes around the community. The positive reactions were heartwarming, proving the power of kindness. To amplify this impact, we combined chocolates with uplifting notes. With just RM10, donors can help deliver these sweet surprises, spreading happiness and positivity. This campaign is about bringing our community together, one sweet act at a time. As undergraduates ourselves, we believe education had helped us a lot in going through the phases in our life. From kindergarten to university level, education had provided us a path of what to do and where to go next. The list of benefits and gains from the knowledge we had been taught goes a long way. Therefore, involving ourselves in this project will enable us to give back what we have to the community.
