Ecco perché ho deciso di creare un progetto che potesse aiutare i bambini nel Sud Est Asiatico ad avere una educazione elementare di base.Con Child's Dream Foundation, costruiremo insieme a te una scuola elementare in Cambogia. Il progetto che abbiamo creato consiste nella costruzione di una scuola con quattro classi che daranno educazione scolastica a circa 140 bambini all'anno. L'istruzione è la strada che porta fuori dalla povertà e questa strada la possiamo percorrere insieme ai bambini della Cambogia.Ti sono grata per aver scelto di acquistare o regalare questo libro: ogni contributo è prezioso. After my nearly 20 years marathon experience (Tokyo, Berlin, Zurich, Munich, London (virtual) etc.) I have decided to take a step further and run my first “lightly extreme” Icefjord Midnight Marathon in Greenland on the 28th of May. It will be a new experience running during the night (the nights in May are light) and not get an injury being flashed by the breathtaking views on the largest island in the world. Hi Friends! June 5th, 2021 will be my 63rd birthday and I wanted to use this as a catalyst to raise funds for a cause, so close to my heart. Having suffered from stress induced Atrial Fibrillation, 5 years ago, towards the latter part of my banking career, I learned through this process of my healing even more that we as individuals need to take control of body, mind, and soul's wellbeing. Luckily, I have been in a place in my life that I was able to afford and receive the adequate medical treatment needed, however, this also highlighted to me how many less fortunate individuals, especially children there are who are in need of these medical help but are not able to receive the treatment properly. I have been working with the founders of Child's Dream and supporting them for 5 years now. However, this year, it would be absolutely incredible if I could, in addition to my own donation to be able to raise some funds for them through my 63rd year old Birthday Fitness Challenge! 10 rounds of Calisthenics ( 1 round consists of 10 pull ups, 10 push ups and 10 sit ups)20 rounds of Kickboxing ( 1 round consists of 3 min kicking and boxing my punching bag, followed by 1 min break)33 miles CyclingI am so grateful that my heart has recovered its strength to be able to handle this challenge and I would love for you to support me in supporting and bettering the lives of these children too. For the past few years since I have been involved in 'Internet Marketing' I have been donating every month to a number of different children's charities around the world. I am raising funds to support a special program at Child’s Dream (www.childsdream.org), the Children’s Medical Fund, in honor of Sean’s upcoming race at the Hawaii Ironman World Championships.The CMF program provides life-saving operations for infants and children (year 0-12) in Myanmar and Laos. During previous fund raising campaigns for Child’s Dream, the focus has been on schools and education, but the founders have asked for a specific focus on this underfunded program. By providing these operations, children are given a chance to beat life-threatening ailments, which also helps break a cycle of poverty in less-developed parts of Laos and Myanmar.The average cost per operation is ~US$4k, so I am targeting US$20k for to help five children.Thank you in advance for your generosity.Youyi

As many of you already know, I am constantly looking to give back to South East Asia what I have received so generously when I grew up and continue to receive today with my family. Each one can contribute in his/her own manner. This is ours. By creating this platform, we truly believe that many droplets create oceans. Once again, my husband Jean-Pierre and I focus on empowering a young in the Sub-Mekong area by supporting her undergraduate education. Davaone - who we supported in the past - is on to her last year of study. She already works as a part time English teacher! Well done!One year costs around US 3,500, so we are aiming to jointly subsidize for her last year of studies! Remember that Davaone, like many other children has worked hard towards her educational goals despite a very challenging environment. Arriving where she is today is not only admirable, but also a valuable contribution to the development of Laos. We are proud of her determination and to know that Child Dream supports her.I came come across Child's Dream Foundation 6 years ago while still living in Zurich. Listening to the interview of founders Marc and Daniel was a revelation and resonated in me. Their structured approach to Heath and Education projects is very much in line with my thinking: lean management (5% of their costs go to administration), lead by two ex banking executives with a commitment, focus and generosity that I cannot begin to describe. This charity focuses on offering education to the Children of Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand as they believe that it is the most important element required for successful social and economic development. They are strong believers in a grassroots, community-based approach, whereby they listen closely to each community they work with to understand their true needs and the best way to support them.The charity's support begins by offering healthcare to infants and children up to the age of 12 who wouldn't otherwise be able to access the specialist medical treatment they need. They also aim to improve health an hygiene in schools and communities. Child's Dream offer basic education to those aged 6 to 18, to help improve their numeracy, literacy, and offer them alternatives for their future. Towards this aim they work on a wide range of projects, one of their key endeavours being to provide the essential infrastructure required to offer a good level of education. As well as building schools they build boarding houses so children living far have somewhere to stay during term time. They also offer a wide range of scholarships to help those who wouldn't otherwise be able to receive secondary education. The final part of their work is to offer higher education to children aged 18 and above. To this effect they offer a broad range of scholarships. As well as providing financial support to those who plan study at university, they assist those children who are looking for a more vocational career by arranging fair on-the-job training and social entrepreneurship grants.Sadly, when visiting these beautiful countries, all of our clients and staff are confronted with the realities of poverty. As these destinations are close to our hearts, and have given us all such amazing experiences, we want to give something back. All our staff were involved in selecting Child's Dream as our charity, and we are all enjoying playing a very small part in helping those in need across Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
