Sunday night (7/14) became a dark day for thousands of families in North Maluku. Suddenly a massive earthquake shook South Halmahera and its surroundings.Thousands of affected families were also forced to flee.Based on the latest info, this earthquake also claimed the life of a citizen.In response to this disaster, the team from Rumah Zakat immediately moved quickly to provide an emergency response for the victims.At present the team is distributing emergency assistance while carrying out deeper assessments for assistance that is greatly needed by the victims.

Hello, Salaams, NiHao & Namaste from Singapore!Hey guys, thanks for visiting my fundraising page as I really hope you'll be able to make a donation to help the disaster hit communities of Lombok from last year’s earthquake there.The ChallengeI have been selected by Prudential Corporate Asia to complete the PruRideLondon 2019, a Century Charity Ride on Sun 4th Aug 2019, literally a year on from the devastation of the earthquake.How long is a Century Ride?The answer is simply a very long bicycle ride. But if you like numbers then that amounts to 100 miles, but you already knew that. As for the metric die-hards amongst you, that translates to precisely 160.934 km! The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 will see riders cycle through London, starting from the Olympic Park in Stratford and into the Surrey countryside, before finishing on The Mall outside Buckingham Palace. A refreshing brew and some scones with The Queen would be nice after the race but I don't think that comes as part of the package!Do you actually know how to ride a bike?A good and an important question! Yes, but I’ve only ever ridden a bicycle a couple of times since well err when I was in my pre-teens, which was a long time ago in the last millennium. So you could say it’s a bit of a challenge for me! To make it more of a challenge I don't even have a 'real' road bicycle to ride on yet. Apparently, so I've been told, a 'real' road bike has curved handlebars and mine only has straight bars (sigh!). Also, there are also these technical things in the bike world call clipless pedals which you actually have to clip into (don't ask!) so there's a lot of new geeky bikey knowledge to comprehend.How will you prepare for the race?Training will involve gym work during weekdays sandwiched with long bicycle rides on weekends to build up the endurance. Being outdoors for a long period under the sun in tropical Singapore is not a pleasant experience so it will mean giving up lie-ins at the weekend to get up well before dawn to be out on the open road in the quiet darkness!You sure your rear end will be able to cope?Hmmm, another good question. Currently leading an LA (lard arse) lifestyle so my rear end is usually accustomed to a comfy leather sofa! The thought of it being subjected to hours on end resting on a razor thin saddle whilst the legs pedal away does terrify me somewhat. If I'm walking around like a penguin after the training and the race you'll know why! By the way, I do appreciate your concern for my rear end, but bit of a cheeky question if you ask me!Sorry, why are you doing this, again?Pay attention, I’m raising money for charity. Also, late last year, no thanks to perpetual chocolate and biscuit binging, my health check reported that I was 16kg over my ideal weight. So for a start there is some serious weight shredding to do on my part and I'm hoping the training will get me back to into shape. Thinning on top came naturally but thinning around the waistline takes serious effort!And if you’re expecting me to shave my legs for that weight-saving aerodynamic go-faster pro-cyclist look, then I’m sorry to tell you it’s not going to happen! I think this is a great opportunity to be a part of Prudential family by participating in this race to support Lombok on behalf of the company along with my colleagues.The purpose of the event is to raise funds for charity. For this year event, Prudential is supporting the longer-term recovery efforts of two villages in Lombok impacted by the earthquakes. As you may know, after the 7.0 earthquake that hit Lombok island last year, many homes and villages were destroyed. The upcoming programme is also part of the support announced last year to the longer-term recovery efforts in Lombok. The Foundation, together with Prudential Indonesia and Group Head Office, is providing financial support for the building of 102 temporary houses, two kindergartens, two prayer rooms and a basketball court. Prudential is working with Posko Jenggala, an local NGO in Indonesia, in providing aid to the affected region. I believe that the money raised here is best served providing shelter for some period of time. I am participating in 2019 Prudential RideLondon https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/ which is a 160km cycling charity fundraising event for Posko Jenggala in August. Your donation, regardless of the amount, would make a significant difference. My story began in 2009, I weighed 250 pounds and realized I had no choice when it came to my health. I started eating clean with regular exercise. In just 4 months, I lost 65 pounds. It’s become been part of my routine lifestyle and I also quit smoking. I completed my first marathon in 2016 followed by an 100km ultra-marathon in 2017. I decided to take one step forward and become an amateur triathlete. Since then, my life has changed because of the tremendous positive impact on my health, daily energy and what version of myself I’ll bring to my family, friends and work. I always wanted to do something different and meaningful while I am still physically capable of. By taking this opportunity, I am supporting the longer-term recovery efforts of two villages in Lombok hit by the terrible earthquake in August 2018. I am deeply honored to be 1 of only 2 riders representing Prudential Singapore along with 23 other colleagues rigourously selected from around Asia for the PruRideLondon Surrey 100 challenge. The first known instance of me on a bike was when I was 2 years old. My father, in his typical excitable state upon the prospects of play time with his son (yes, that's me), had managed to scavenge a makeshift bamboo carry basket and attach it onto his antiquated road bike; and from such meager accommodation, I would learn to see the world, for the first time, at about 20km/h. My mother too, would cycle with us on her own bike which had a smaller frame and thicker wheels. She is best recollected in my memory as having incessantly screamed at me to sit still lest I spill onto the road like a basket of oranges.All of our lives have moved on since then - my father recently retired after four decades of public service, my mother lived through a period of cancer recovery, and I myself having grown bigger and stronger for a while, now starting to begin a long and painful journey of mental and physical atrophy through the invariable process of aging. Nevertheless, our whole family (including my two younger brothers, and later, my wife) have always continued to bond through cycling. From short 10km night rides along Tai Mei Tuk Reservoir, to much longer overseas cycling trips, we knew that with each other's support, we would always be able to reach the next destination, and have fun whilst doing it.In my world, biking has been a source of hope, health and happiness. I would be humbled and grateful if you could support me in my next cycling challenge - the Prudential Ride London 100 miles. Thank you!

Prudential Indonesia, its Group Head Office, and together with Posko Jenggal (a local NGO) are continuing to give efforts to support a long - term recovery effort. Those efforts would include 102 temporary homes, 2 kindergartens, 2 prayer rooms, and a basketball court. I will be joining the 100 miles ride in Prudential Ride London 2019 and in support with the ongoing relief efforts, I would be needing your help. A part of the event would be a fund raising activity where the amount collected are going to be donated to Lombok's recovery. Cuối tháng 4/2018 tôi có dịp đến Lombok để chinh phục đỉnh Rinjani và đi lặn ở đảo Gili. Lombok trong mắt tôi rất xinh đẹp, là nơi lý tưởng để bạn có kỳ nghỉ tuyệt vời vào dịp hè. Thế nhưng mọi thứ sụp đổ sau trận động đất kép 6.4 độ Richter ngày 29/07/2018 và 6,9 độ Richter ngày 05/08/2018. Các trận động đất đã cướp đi sinh mạng của 555 người, hơn 1.300 người bị thương và gần 353.000 người phải đi sơ tán. Thiệt hại ước tính là 7,7 nghìn tỷ rupiah (tương đương 528 triệu USD). Ngay sau khi nghe tin động đất tôi rất muốn quyên góp một phần để giúp đỡ người dân ở Lombok nhưng không biết hỗ trợ bằng cách nào. Năm nay, Prudential hỗ trợ tái thiết hai ngôi làng ở Lombok bị ảnh hưởng bởi trận động đất. Hiện tại Prudential đang hỗ trợ tài chính cho việc xây dựng 102 ngôi nhà tạm thời, hai trường mẫu giáo, hai phòng cầu nguyện và sân bóng rổ. The Foundation, together with Prudential Indonesia and Group Head Office, is providing financial support for the building of 102 temporary houses, two kindergartens, two prayer rooms and a basketball court. Prudential is working with Posko Jenggala, an local NGO in Indonesia, in providing aid to the affected region. This year, I was luckily selected to join Prudential Ride London. Like any other participants, I am expected to raise minimum fund of USD1000 to Posko Jenggala for the purpose of partially contribution to the recovery in Lombok. Visited Lombok to climb Mont Rinjani a few years back. The track up Rinjani was tough but the experience was unforgettable especially the majestic view. During the journey I had a conversation with a young local porter. He shared his life story - how a young man from Lombok strives in the construction industry and why young men from Lombok are preferred throughout Indonesia and the region in the construction industry due to their toughness, grit and determination. He shared how poor life is and the fact that the shorts he is wearing was a gift from a hiker. He says he will very soon journey out of Indonesia for work and make good money for the family. My subsequent stay in Lombok allowed me a glimpse of life on the island and how gracious they were to us. Hence I would like to make a difference by raising money for this cause. I hope my effort will in some ways help support the recovery efforts of villages hit by the terrible earthquake. Please support me by donating.

Working with Prudential, Posko Jenggala builds on those efforts to provide aid to the affected region.I have received so much personal reward and satisfaction from biking. The Prudential RideLondon on August 4, 2019 is a platform for me to give back to through my love for biking and make the overall community better.

Welcome to my fundraising page! I am Yifei. I will participant in 2019 Prudential RideLondon - Charity Ride for Posko Jenggala. About me I like outdoor sports. Running, hiking, cycling, windsurfing, longboarding … I have tried them all. The most fascinating part for these activities is that you can feel the nature in different ways. I can run by the sea, hike to the ice lake up on the mountain, ride to a temple that few people know. I feel the wave of ocean and wave on the road. Indeed, there’re painful moments in these activities, but I enjoyed the remaining time quite a lot. Relatively new to cycling, I am training seriously for the upcoming challenge in London, mostly focus on improving riding endurance. Meanwhile, I am doing muscle strength training to improve riding stability. However, regular training is just one enabler for the ride. Your kind donation to Posko Jenggala is the biggest support on my way to London!! About the fundraising Posko Jenggala is an NGO charity organization actives in humanitarian activities to help others, especially in disaster management in Indonesia. They keep helping victims from Palu - Donggala earthquakes, Lombok earthquakes, assisting the locals to rebuild their home.
