Share love with these people who are simply here to feed their families.Donate now to improve their living conditions. All donations will directly go to H.O.M.E. [Humanitarian organisation for migrant economics]Xana:I am a student in Singapore who attended a workshop with migrant workers. We had deep conversations about what their lives were like while doing an activity together. As they shared their experiences and funny stories in the dormitories, I was curious about what they bunked in and asked for pictures. Sadly, I was unsurprised that there were too many people allocated to a single toilet. Questioning further, they mentioned that soap dispensers were inadequate and sometimes the flush system did not work. This led to strong smells entering their living areas. Additionally, some were put off when injured and had to work with a break in the arm. Their injuries should be taken seriously.Unfortunately, migrant workers work for business organisations who seek to maximise profits, hence I hope to aid the scheme which helps them when these businesses neglect to care for them.Photograph credits:https://expatliving.sg/helping-migrant-workers-affected-by-the-covid-19-crisis/https://pride.kindness.sg/three-year-old-toddler-is-migrant-workers-best-friend/https://humanist.org.sg/skype-party-2-taking-care-of-our-foreign-workers/

Covid-19 continues to impact our lives in every way possible. In Singapore, the foreign workers have felt the brunt of the impact. While the Singapore Govt has done a phenomenal job in taking care of the foreign workers, I wanted to find a way to give back to our foreign workers for all the fantastic effort they put in everyday to improve our lives. Cheryl from Simplegiving connected me to Home.org.sg, an organization that is helping foreign workers. I plan to run 120km over June, and raise money to help home.org.sg, with their mission of assisting foreign worker.  I do hope you can help in supporting this cause. I will donate 1k for the cause. You can track my progress on Stava (Sandy Uberoi)

COVID-19 is a global crisis but is playing out at local level so we have shaped our firm-wide response to reflect this. Each region has identified local charities and over the coming weeks the firm will match the donations under a COVID-19 version of the matched giving scheme policy. Please refer to the Freshfields wiki for details of the policy. This fundraising match-fund scheme is only open to current employees and partners of Freshfields.Humaritarian Organization for Migration Economics ("H.O.M.E.") - Migrant workers in SingaporeH.O.M.E. is dedicated to empowering and supporting migrant workers who find themselves victims of human rights violations and suffer abuse and exploitation. These workers normally earn the lowest of wages (as low as SGD300-400 a month) and they are experiencing the negative effects of COVID-19 including termination, loss of income and lack of shelter and medical care. During the “Circuit Breaker” measures, H.O.M.E. continues to respond to the workers’ urgent needs through helpline support and providing food and medical supplies.
