** En français en dessous!** On 13th March, I will join Marc (a.k.a the Fat Man), Jean-Yves (a.k.a the One-Foot Man), Nick (a.k.a the Comically Unfit Man) and their friends on a 10km solidarity run, which I will do in Phnom Penh at 6pm at Independence Monument. I will be accompanied by my sweet rescue dog Samy who will join in the effort and hopefully alert people in case I do a cardiac arrest. Yes, you read me well! Me, Alice, will be running! For only for a good cause!I am indeed raising funds for Friends-International, the organisation I am working for. Friends-International supports marginalised South-East Asian children, youth and their families to become productive and functional citizens of the society. I am so proud of working for this top notch organisation and I wanted to give a bit more of my person through this run!--Le 13 mars, je joindrai Marc, Jean-Yves, Nick et leurs amis pour un jogging solidaire de 10 km, que je fera à Phnom Penh à 18h au Monument de l'Indépendance. Je serai accompagnée de mon amour de chien Samy, récemment adopté d'un refuge, qui se joindra à l'effort et, espérons-le, alertera les gens au cas où je fais un arrêt cardiaque. Oui, tu m'as bien lu! Moi, Alice, je vais courir! Mais seulement pour une bonne cause!Je lève en effet des fonds pour Friends-International, l'organisation pour laquelle je travaille. Friends-International aide les enfants et les jeunes marginalisés et leurs familles d'Asie du Sud-Est à devenir des citoyens productifs et indépendants. Je suis tellement fière de travailler pour cette super organisation et je voulais donner un peu plus de ma personne à travers cette course!

#RunwithFriendsIn early August 2020, We were challenged by our friend Loïc to run a half marathon. Since then, We have been working out quite hard every week to be phisically able to run the half marathon in Siem Reap. First we thought we could do it in 2h, but after some training, we think we can do it in 1h50min. Our Wives and children are supporting us (including pushing us out of bed at 5h30 am on Sundays). By doing so, we want to contribute with the fundraising of Friends. The raised money during those few days is to support children education in Cambodia. Do you want to help us to get to the finish line on the 6th December and support children's education in Cambodia??? Great!

Friends provide holistic services for street children and other vulnerable children, youth and families to get them out of danger and back into school or training and safe employment. COVID-19 is pushing more families into poverty, causing a rise in parents turning to sex work and other dangerous occupations, as they have no other option to support their families. Experiencing everything first hand, although it is but a fraction of what our #EverydayHeroes from Friends International and Mith Samlanh are doing, is definitely worth running 10K for. We have been trained in child protection awareness by ChildSafe and recognised by ChildSafe HQ, based in Cambodia.This is our first fundraising campaign to support Friends and ChildSafe! We will be doing our own run, walk, skate or ride on Sunday 6th December and hope you will support our fundraising efforts!
