Team 'Every Mile Matters' is carrying the flag for Hong Kong in the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon 2018 and is fundraising for The Zubin Foundation and Outward Bound. LET'S MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR HONG KONG'S UNDERPRIVILEDGED AND MARGINALISED CHILDREN.In June 2018, David Gething and Mayank Vaid will undertake the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon, an ultra-distance race. The triathlon starts with an 87-mile run from London's Marble Arch to Dover on the Kent coast, then a cross-Channel swim (21 miles) to the French coast, and finishes with a 180-mile bike ride from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, for a total of 288 miles.Only 24 athletes have ever completed the challenge. We have partnered with two local Hong Kong organisations we really respect -- The Zubin Foundation and Outward Bound Hong Kong -- to raise enough money to support 1 child for each mile we cover. That's 288 children who can experience life-changing benefits with your help.We aim to raise HK$1 million, which will be equally distributed between the two organisations. A tax receipt will be issued to all donations above HK$100. Please input donor details in the tax receipt data entry fields on the online fundraising page.Who benefits? The Zubin FoundationThe Zubin Foundation is a charity whose mission is to advance fairness and opportunity for Hong Kong's vulnerable communities. It is a leading voice for Hong Kong's ethnic minority population, committed to ensuring that this important constituency is represented and heard at the policy-making level, and supported through high-impact interventions. In 2018, The Zubin Foundation will launch a pilot intervention programme to help non-Chinese speaking families who have children with special education needs. This population is among Hong Kong's most marginalised; their needs are not met by the public education system, and in most cases, parents cannot afford private schooling or therapy services. Your money will directly support this initiative, enabling The Zubin Foudnation to offer private counselling and training to parents of special needs children, and dedicated workshops for schools, ensuring that this underserved group doesn't get left further behind.http://www.zubinfoundation.orgOutward Bound Hong KongOutward Bound is a non-profit making organisation created to help people discover and develop their potential to care for themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings.
