Care for Cambodia

Care for Cambodia is a Non for Profit organisation based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. They are focused around education and preventative methods to help youth of rural Cambodia to thrive in their local communities. Through identifying villages that need help, they then form a relationship with the village leader, to then appoint teachers within the community who can assist children with their schooling.CFC's goals is actually to help as little as possible. With proper education around health and life skills and added supplements to their schooling they themselves can create a life that is full-filling for them. The team at CFC are beyond passionate and beautiful humans. They are a living testament to what it means to work and be of service to other less fortunate. All funds raised through this event will go directly to this organisation where they will be able to provide school supplies, uniforms, and quality education through up-skilling teachers and staff. No contribution is too big or too small. And every single donation can make a difference. My heart is with this community and organisation - its time to create a real change for others.

Care for Cambodia

In April this year I lost an uncle to COVID19. Edwin Cotter was my mum’s youngest brother and in recent years had been pastoring a church in Silverdale, Stoke. I have been living and working in Cambodia with Care for Cambodia for almost 10 years and during this COVID period I remained here in Cambodia, it has been difficult to support my mourning family from distance, not knowing when I can return to comfort and support them in person. Edwin was passionate about serving those in need in his community and was also a big supporter of my work in a Cambodia. I aim to complete the challenge detailed below to raise funds to build a classroom in his memory. This classroom will benefit Care for Cambodia staff in their mission to keep kids and youth in school for longer. A better education gives kids the opportunity of improved job prospects, and gives them the hope of escaping the cycle of poverty which grips many families in rural Cambodia.Run the DateFor each day in July I will run the equivalent number of kilometres i.e. on the 1st 1km, 2nd 2km, 10th 10km, 25th 25km. I will take each Sunday as rest days (or catchup days if I fall behind!). This works out to be 434km throughout the month - or an average of 14km per day.Daily updates on my progress can be seen on this spreadsheet.https://docs.google.com/file/d/1ZNnl9iYpGdD0o5vNYQ9c2f6hHebeRLOu/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=...

Care for Cambodia

50% of children in rural Cambodia do not stay in school beyond the age of 15. And Brave Bison APAC wanted to be a part of something bigger in order to change this. We visited the Care for Cambodia's Children Project in one of the rural villages last week to spend some time with the children and bring them some Christmas Cheer and with that, we want to meet some practical needs they have by providing them with funds to buy stationery, books and other equipment they need, as well as supporting the teachers who go into the villages to teach the children. You can be a part of that and your donation will go a long way to paving the way out of poverty for them. We're extending the donation drive till 31 January 2020 so it's not too late to donate! Also, check out the video we made for them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEUX6AAyADA&feature=youtu.be
