2021 marks the 13th edition of OCBC Cycle and it is heartening to see how the event has brought together Singapore’s cycling community and drawn so many staff participants over the years. This year, together with Helen and a group of SVPs, we are pleased to introduce the CEO Charity Challenge – OCBC Bank's nternal staff engagement for OCBC Cycle 2021. This initiative will make participating in OCBC Cycle even more meaningful as we aim to raise funds for our charity partners as well as for OCBC’s own initiative to plant trees that will absorb and store CO2, the biggest climate changer. We want YOUR help to raise funds for Singapore Children's Society! Our BeneficiarySingapore Children’s Society helps protect and nurture children and youth of all races and religions, especially those who are abused, neglected and/or come from dysfunctional families.

Christmas is a time of cheer, celebration and happiness, but what if some children are left behind? This holiday season, as you get together with your loved ones to celebrate in full spirit, exchange gifts and light up your Christmas tree at home, remember that you have the power to bring new hope and happiness to a child in need.Make your Christmas more meaningful this year and give them a Christmas that they’ll never forget because every child deserves a Merry Christmas!Check out our Christmas greeting video featuring our beneficiaries from Student Care Centre (Henderson) here: http://bit.ly/2BbYkew.

Donate and support our fundraising goal!Following in the footsteps of our UK and Romania colleagues, the Singapore constituent of Thomsons Online Benefits has accepted their challenge for 2017, raising money for the Singapore Children’s Society!!!9 Thomsons people (and three very brave companions) from the Singapore office have been persuaded to climb Mount Ophir in Gunung Ledang National Park in Malaysia. Some of the team have done it before, as part of the 2013 Challenge. When completing it Sergei said “It was alright…“. Martin said “Never again!”The last time we went up Gunung Ledang, it took around 8 hours, 4 up and 4 down, and with all the ups and downs we had an elevation gain of 2713m, more than double the height of the mountain.Training has already begun for the event… although with the highest point in Singapore being 163m, and Gunung Ledang being 1276m, it’s hard to find anywhere suitable to train in Singapore. But we will try!!! After all, it's all in the name of charity!!! And that's where we need your help! Please please PLEASE help the Thomsons Singapore team to raise as much money as possible for the Singapore Children’s SocietyThomsons will match up to $500 per employee taking part of any sponsorship we raise, so please donate generously.

So I know I said "never again" when we got down from climbing Gunung Ledang back in 2013. But we've been talked into doing it again.Last time, I made it, just. but was described by Delhi as "so pale, you're almost see-through". It took us 4 hours up the mountain and another 4 hours down. It was hot, wet and dirty...This time, we're taking the training seriously, and are determined to do it faster, or at least with less pain. We've got a babysitter to look after Arden for the night, our first night away together without Arden since she was born a year ago... how romantic. So this is where we need your help, we need to raise money for the Singapore Children's Society.Anything you can donate to us will be greatly appreciated, we're trying to get upto $1,000. With a target of $10,000 for the whole team.

On Thursday 22 September a group of ten lawyers from my firm and ten of our clients will be flying to Borneo. Once there we will be biking 100km cross country in order to raise funds for our chosen charity: Singapore Children's Society. Although Singapore is a rich country, there are children who fall through the cracks in society and are greatly in need of financial support in order to put them on a level footing with the rest of us. As a firm we are firmly committed to helping the communities within which we work - and this is my part in giving something back this year. I am sorry to say that I am unlikely to be able to dazzle you with any broken records on my return ("training" has been on my to do list for months) but I can promise that I will try my hardest to complete the (very hilly) course in the punishing heat and humidity and that I will bring back photographic evidence. It's a great cause and all of the team really appreciate your generosity. My firm will match a portion of your donation - so your giving will have extra impact!Singapore Children's Society protects and nurtures children and youth of all races and religions. In 2014, the Society reached out to 68,292 children, youth and families in need.
