Hi everyone. We are from TARUC (Tunku Abdul Rahman Universiti College), Diploma in E-Marketing (DEM Group 5), and this is our first time doing a donation charity. Therefore, we are looking for a reliable online platform like Simplygiving. The reason we chose SIMPLYGIVING is that it has many successful stories of saving people's lives. We now have the ability to be their beacon of light, to brighten their future path. Thus, let's hold this opportunity tight to ensure their last hopes. We are setting the target fund at RM800. Although RM800 may appear to be a small sum, it is more than sufficient for their daily needs and can even be used to purchase books to broaden their horizons.Eventually, we enjoyed organising this event and giving back to the community. Some questions may pop-up in your mind. Q&AQ : Where would the money go after being donated? A :The money you donated through SimplyGiving will be transferred to Lighthouse Children Welfare Home.  Q : What’s the money for?A :Money will be used for the daily essentials needed to look after the children and for their education. The Home is run entirely on donations and would be grateful for your kind contributions. Lighthouse Children Welfare Home is the beneficiary of our fundraising campaign. The home provides essential care to the most vulnerable children in Malaysia, from diverse backgrounds, ages and ethnicities. They currently look after 63 children, ages 4-20.This is the link to the https://www.simplygiving.com//nonprofit/LighthouseHome

Spreading your love with your sunny heart to make warm memories and happiness. Hi everyone, Hope you have good health and happiness during this pandemic. We are students from Diploma in Hotel Management and Diploma in Tourism Management Year 1 Semester 1 are studying at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC) Kuala Lumpur main campus. We are helping an orphanage LIGHTHOUSE by doing online fundraising. In 2021, as the Covid-19 pandemic destroys the source of the economy, there are many people who need help. This is because people can only stay at home to avoid the virus and without work. Our class decided to help an orphanage’s children. Lighthouse now has 63 children with ages ranging from 4 to 20. Supported by a Committee of 14 persons, Lighthouse is run by 4 paid staff who take care of the children and 2 staff for security and maintenance. The home has expanded to 4 rented houses that comply with all regulations.

Update on Distance covered: 34.9 KM of 100 KM [Day: 10 of 30]63 kids - of ages between 2 and 23 - call Lighthouse their home. Julia is the youngest who will be starting school, next year. At 23, Joseph is the oldest who’s studying engineering at Taylor’s University. Hong, who’s in grade 6, is undoubtedly the most mischievous of the lot (he once hid my phone and I spent 2 hours looking for it), and Praveen, who is in secondary school, is the most responsible 16-year-old I’ve ever met in my life (he loves learning about countries and cultures).Lighthouse Children Welfare Home is a foster home in Bangsar, KL, registered with the Registrar of Societies since 2007. The home is run by Mr and Mrs Steven, full-time foster parents to all the children.I started volunteering at Lighthouse back in the summer, last year. In the wake of Covid-19 lockdowns, most of its expat donors had left the country and Mr. and Mrs. Steven were having trouble making the ends meet. Back then, a few corporate donors and NGOs lent a helping hand and things did get better, however, more recently due to persisting lockdowns when NGOs are no longer in operation, Lighthouse needs help once again.MYR 50,000 (roughly USD 10,000) is what’s needed on a monthly basis to keep the foster home afloat. While I and some fellow volunteers are reaching out to corporates to seek help, we’re also undertaking personal fundraising efforts to help out as much as we can.My target is to raise MYR 10,000. It’s not an awful lot I feel, but it should be enough for 3 weeks of groceries at the home.To raise funds for Lighthouse and create awareness on my social media pages, I have undertaken a personal challenge to run 100 KMs in a month. I’m not a regular so it’s not going to be an easy feat for me but hopefully I will be able to accomplish the challenge, and more importantly, be able to raise funds and awareness for a cause that’s close to my heart. I will be regularly posting updates on this page to share my progress.Thank you for your support.Stay safe.

Located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association currently houses - children ranging from the ages of 6 to 21. These children mainly come from - backgrounds but are lucky to have found this association that values their potential. Being entirely ran on donations, they have fallen slightly behind on their funds, which is a rough minimum of RM 60,000 a month to provide these children with their necessities, needed to sustain their association. Coming from different backgrounds, we all do hope for the same thing, so for those who are slightly more fortunate, it would be great if you could help them out. With this said, thank you for reading this, and we do hope to count on you to make this difference! Remember, similar to the phrase 'every child counts', everything you donate makes a difference in these children's lives

I am so proud that we are bringing GivingTuesday to Malaysia, in the form of MYGiving. It has grown into a movement that is celebrating and encouraging giving. As part of MYGiving, from the 3-8 December, I will be fundraising for The Lighthouse Children Welfare Home. The Lighthouse Children Welfare Home is located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur and currently houses 70 children ranging from the ages of 6 to 21.  The children largely come from problematic backgrounds involving alcoholic or drug addict parents, poverty stricken or single parents who are unable to care for their children, and in some extreme cases, from abusive environments. The Home prides itself on having adopted a family, rather than an institutional concept and a significant effort is put into bringing together siblings who have been separated in the past into this home as a family. All the children of school-going age attend government schools. The Home is run entirely on donations and we would be grateful for your kind contributions.  It costs the home RM12,000 a year to house, clothe, feed and educate 1 child in a safe and secure environment. They need all the help and support they can get.

We are a group of engineering students from Taylor's University and we strongly believe that every child should hone their hands-on skills and experience the latest technology.  We are setting up this fundraising to shed a light to the kids on the wonders of science and technology.  The amount we set for this project is RM 10,000.  Once the target is achieved, we would use 5% of the amount raised to buy the supplies and spend a day at the orphanage to nurture the interest of arts and science while the rest of the money shall be given to Lighthouse Children Welfare as donation.  Not to worry, if the targeted amount is not reached by the end of the allocated time, we will donate all amount raised directly to Lighthouse Children Welfare.  The money allocated for supplies shall be used to purchase arts & craft materials to design their very own paper homes and conducting paint to light up the homes with LEDs, the end-product will resemble a small village which will make the learning of science and arts very interactive.

As many of you are aware I am a volunteer at Lighthouse Children's Home in Bangsar. The orphanage is totally reliant on donations and as well as one off fund raising initiatives such as our much needed roof repair appeal we also need funding to support our monthly ongoing operational costs for running home basics such as rent, electricity, and food for the children.I recently heard about an initiative  that asks for 38RM donation from 10 friends  and then asked that those friends in turn  then 'pass it on'  and each person talk to another 10 or so of their friends they think would also like to contribute. Those friends ideally 'donate'  38RM, then again each pick 10 friends they think would be willing to contribute and  pass it on again. Making the loop bigger each time. The beauty  of this fund raiser is by donating a relatively small amount and then talking about our orphanage needs and getting your friends involved,  each person donates $38RM  and  collectively as a caring fund raising community hopefully we can raise a much larger sum quite quickly. I think its a brilliant idea. So if you can please donate 38 RM  to our orphanage by clicking donate and following the prompts and then copy the link to this page and talk with your friends highlighting our request for funds  using whatsapp,  facebook, email etc so they can also donate 38 RM via this page and then they in turn spread the word , pass along to their friends so they can contribute too that would be fantastic. By talking to your friends and passing on our request for each person  to donate 38RM  to this page I am hoping this fund raising initiative can keep growing and growing . We hope to raise 38,000RM. That is just under 1 months operational costs to support the orphanage day to day for 55 children.38RM one person at a time.  Of course there is no obligation to donate 38RM  feel free to donate whatever you like,  every single RM goes towards to the children, but the great thing about this idea is that if we can donate and then successfully get our friends  involved in donating too, no one person has to donate more than 38RM (or the Aussie/UK equivalent) in order for us to reach our target. Thank you so much friends, and friends of friends xxx and hopefully friends of friends of friends !!!!
