We're proud to announce we're currently running a fundraising project right about now, and YOU have the opportunity to HELP! Many stray animals alike are currently sick and in need of desperate care, some even LACK FOOD! PAWS, a non-profit animal shelter founded since 1987 has been housing over 250 dogs and cats under its roof, and is still GROWING until now. Not every animal, sadly, is able to get adopted to a house with its growing size, and the shelter is in short of hands. One can only imagine what must be done to keep the animals alive and healthy. Thus, our group, "Tails of Hope" wish to bring the safety and rights that these animals deserve. But it wouldn't be enough with just us. Our power is limited, and we can only do so much... but we guarantee, for every drop of money poured into this charity, will be 100% sent to PAWS for the wellbeing of these beloved critters of ours. For every feather you give is a happy tail wagging back. And any money, no matter how small, is a contribution to something bigger in life, and will certainly be repaid by due time ❤️🌿Please follow us on this journey to make tails wag and whiskers twitch with joy. In alliance with PAWS, we're turning small change into big smiles for furry friends in need. Join us, donate, and be a part of the paw-sitive movement! This is your moment, furry friends! We'll be waiting for your helping hand, to give hope for the lost tails ☺️

Amidst the silence of our animal companions, a powerful truth echoes—they remain voiceless. Within Malaysia, there has been a sharp rise in the cases of animal abuse, with many stray animals being neglected, harmed, and left to die on the streets. Their silence, however, is not an invitation to overlook their needs; it heightens the urgency for humanity to rise above by making sure animals are treated with the fairness and respect they deserve.Who Are We?We have come together as passionate students (and animal lovers) from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia to further extend the PAWsitive impact we leave behind in our society. We believe that this impact should not only benefit our close friends and family, but should also extend to the furry friends that make our lives infinitely happier too. To us, an ideal environment is one where there is harmonious coexistence between humans and the voiceless beings we share this planet with. Our Mission:We have made it our mission to Lend Our Helping PAWS to create a lasting impact on the lives of stray animals by aiding our beneficiary in providing them with the care, compassion, and support they deserve. Through this campaign, we aim to raise awareness on social media and collect funds that directly go to supporting the operations of Paws Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). We hope to build a community of like-minded individuals who share the same love and passion for every precious stray animal, big or small, just as we do.You Can Make a Difference!Join us in ensuring that every stray animal is not just surviving, but given the opportunity to live in a forever home filled with love and joy. Even the smallest of donations goes a long way! With your generosity, we can create a world where no stray animal is left behind.Come Find Us:Don’t forget to check out our official Instagram page and give us a follow! https://www.instagram.com/lendingourhelping.paws?igsh=MXFwNmkzZnRnb2RmZw== Click here for more information on our beneficiary, Paws Animal Welfare Society (PAWS): https://www.paws.org.my/

There’s this stray cat at Heriot-Watt University that catches the whole campus’ attention. We adore it so much that most of us start to care for animals. While the cat's well fed on campus, we realise that other strays may not have the same faith. We, 10 first year students, decided to form a team and carry out a project named ‘Care for the Voiceless Animals PAWS’ to proceed towards a future with lots and lots of happy animals starting in Malaysia! You can join too by donating and sharing our page! The PAWS in the end of our name represent an organisation that shelters strays and abandoned animals which perfectly align with our goals of giving proper homes for strays.A solution we came up with is to collect funds from this SimplyGiving website as they are credible and well certified. The fund will be given to PAWS to allow them to save or shelter even more animals. And guess what! Not only the animals are benefitted, but us too! With less stray animals roaming around there will be less faeces for you guys to deal with and it is also safer for people to walk around without the fear of getting chased by some animals that carry rabies. So in the end, everyone has a lil’ happy ending.FOLLOW OUR IG: https://www.instagram.com/careforthevoicelessanimalspaws?igsh=dmdveGx6ZWN6YTk3

Animals’ lives matter! Reports by the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that there are roughly 200 million stray dogs and a higher figure of stray cats found worldwide. Strays have been posed as a risk due to these animals carrying potential zoonotic diseases like rabies and toxoplasmosis if there is no proper care. Plus, it is known that the chances of traffic accidents are higher with more stray animals’ presence near roadways. Thus, animal shelters were made to help curb this problem. However, due to the lack of funds and resources, not all strays can be taken cared of by these shelters around the world. As a team of animal lovers, our project's aim is to help create more awareness on the ongoing issues. This campaign will be conducted on our social medias – Instagram and TikTok. Please support us by donating or simply giving us a shoutout. Your contribution already is a big help to all animals around us. We promise that 100% of funds earned will be sent to PAWS Animal Welfare Society. Our SocialsInstagram: @lovepaws.hwTiktok: @lovepaws.hw

DID YOU KNOW? There were 253 cases of dog abuse and welfare-related issues in 2022. Besides that, animal cruelty cases involving cats are also on the rise.  Animal shelters and rescue groups are overwhelmed by the number of animals in need of care and adoption. They lack the resources and funds to provide adequate food, medical treatment, and shelter for these animals.  THE SOLUTION PAWS (PAWS Animal Welfare Society), a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya, receives unwanted dogs and cats which they will help to vaccinate, deworm, neuter and put up for adoption. Currently, there are over 250 dogs and 250 cats under the shelter. All the costs involved are entirely funded by the generous donations of the public.  We are a group of passionate and creative students from Heriot-Watt University who want to make a positive difference in the world by helping animals in need. We believe that animals deserve respect, care, and protection, and that we can use our skills and talents to help them. We aim to raise awareness, fundraise, and create solutions for animal welfare.  THE IMPACT We hope to bring a positive impact on the lives of the animals and the people involved. By fundraising for PAWS, we will help them provide better care and services for the animals in their custody. We also hope that we can educate the public about the issues and challenges faced by animals in Malaysia and inspire more people to be compassionate and responsible pet owners. We hope you will support our project and join us in making a difference for the animals in need. Together, we can make the world a better place for them. Thank you for your attention and interest. 🐾

We are a team consisting of 9 passionate and benevolent students from Heriot-Watt University who all have a common aim to gather funds to provide shelter for unwanted pets and stray animals. We also desire to increase awareness about the importance of protecting these animals as well as promoting ways to protect these precious creatures. Our aim for this crowdfunding project is to spread awareness and raise funds for a non-profit animal shelter called PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society), based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. PAWS was created on the Subang Airport Road through their ingenuity, imagination and generosity. They receive a litter of unwanted dogs and cats which they will vaccinate, deworm, neuter, and put up for adoption. Today, this leaves them with over 500 cats and dogs without a forever home. PAWS depends entirely on your generosity through donations or proceeds from charitable events to fund a cause for the four paws. Our goal is to raise awareness of improving animal well-being and support PAWS in rehabilitating unwanted pets and injured stray animals, and sheltering homeless dogs, cats, etc. By selling self-care packages for humans and animals, we can promote the importance of good animal welfare. Our profit will be donated to PAWS which will be used in the care of a large number of homeless animals. What are you waiting for? Do you know that stray animals are mistreated and neglected in many countries of the world? Many times, we are totally unaware of what happens to animals in other countries and how strays are treated in certain places. However, when we get at the truth, we can sadly notice that the list of Countries in which animal welfare does not even reach the minimum standard is extremely long, and unfortunately is worsening day by day.National animal protection laws and regulations are frequently inadequate and in many cases basic animal rights do not even exist in these countries. Additionally, there is a huge lack of educational and awareness campaigns addressed to local communities that should instead be implemented to lower the widespread feelings of mistrust, fear, indifference and hostility towards stray animals. The lack of laws, regulations and education make the lives of street dogs and cats a daily attempt to survive from abuses and mistreatments.HWUM_Run4Paws is a team consisting of 10 caring and enthusiastic individuals from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia with the same sympathetic heart towards stray animals. We aspire to allow as many stray animals as possible to have a shelter and care that they deserve for being such cute souls. Our main objective for this fundraising activity is to provide funds for PAWS Animal Welfare Society, which is an animal shelter in operation since 1987. The funds would be vital for the non-profit organisation to vaccinate, deworm, neuter and shelter over 500 stray cats and dogs currently. Consequently, this would improve the physical & mental wellbeing of animals, while ensuring better population control of stray animals in the near future. In order to achieve our goal, we will be carrying out our project — "HWUM RUN 4 PAWS", which is a Charity Virtual Run. We pay attention on the community’s good health and well-being, so the community can exercise for a good cause. This virtual run also allows flexibility for participants as they can run at any location, anytime at their own pace. Every ringgit — from registration fees, event shirts and other merchandises — will be channeled to PAWS Animal Welfare Society. We call for every like-minded person who has the same desire for an improvement for stray animals to contribute to us. Together, we can make our world a better place for animals. Our group, and the stray animals thank you in advance. !!VIRTUAL RUN REGISTRATION FORM: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UgbfUGGTDvnQ2Sk8wF5QdZc7IqTNGJW5VF4ebOfCCII/edit?usp=drive_webInstagram page: https://instagram.com/hwum_run4paws?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=Email us: [email protected]

Good day to everyone. My name is Amaliya Shteyneker. For many years, me and my husband have treated stray animals—all the time, we are doing it at our own cost. Usually, we only can allocate the budget for 2-3 minor cases or one severe case once in 3 months. Last month we had 2 cases, one severe and one semi-severe. A few weeks ago, I picked up a stray cat at my work Peninsula International School Australia (Malaysia Campus). The cat was bleeding all over his face. I brought him to the clinic, where the doctor diagnosed him with sporotrichosis. I had admitted him for two weeks, but unfortunately, this Vet is not specialising and does not want to carry on with the Sporo case like this one.On the other hand, it was very costly to keep him in that vet. I contacted the other vet in Shah Alam, specialising in sporotrichosis treatment, and they agreed to admit him, so we admitted him there. The cat is in quite a bad condition, my husband and I are tried to cure him at home, but we are not specialising in it, and looks like we only making it worst. For the first admission of the cat, my colleagues and I managed to raise the fund for his first hospitalisation of RM 1500. All this money we paid for his total bill at the first vet, but for the second one, it’s a bit difficult for us. Sporo infection has to be treated at the hospital between 6 to 12 months. I have got quotations from multiple clinics. The bill for one month is from rm 1.5 to 2000. The Shah Alam clinic we contacted having the lowest charges, the initial payment rm 2500, and the following months rm 1000 every month. We are hoping to be able to treat him for at least till his wounds are close to 60% recovery and continue the treatment at home. To achieve such a result, he needs to be hospitalised for at least 6 to 8 months. We would like to raise at least 30 to 50 % of his total bill. As I mentioned, my family only can allocate the budget once in 3 months to take care of the stray animals, but this is a long-term case, and it’s tough to find this budget. Besides it, we have seven stray cats at home, which as well been rescued previously. In total, we saved over 20 animals who had multiple conditions. Usually, we always will find a home for them after the treatment, the one's with a difficult case, we keep them with us. We never put down any animal. We always fight till we make it. I believe this cat will make it as well, but to get him through, we need some funds, please good people, could you help us with this journey? This is our first time asking for funds from people. We had never done it before and  were always taking care of it ourselves. We will be very grateful if anyone can help us to save this lively boy. Thank you very much, good people 🙏

She is MIMI, my bunny, my part of family members. She is 5 years old. She has had heart problems for several years. However, I have done what is necessary for her to have a good quality of life until today as i reached my financial limit. Unfortunately a few weeks ago she started having more health problems such as difficulty breathing, fatigue and swelling of the feet. To determine the problem, I took her to Vet and She was diagnosed with Dyspnea. We have tried treated her with medication but not really went well. It is really hard to see her suffering all of these. I want her treated by surgical intervention to alleviate dyspnea instead of medication, but the problem is that surgery cost is expensive. That is why Im here to do the crowdfunding and I really need you guys help. I can't lose her. I want to help my bunny and do everything possible for her because in the 5 years that I have had her. She is not just a bunny, she is one of my family members. If you decided to support, I would really appreciate it. Every dollar you donated, It really means a lot to me. Thank you.
