Delphine and Roland are taking part in the 2 BILLION KILOMETERS TO SAFETY challenge, by running 52 km between them in Myanmar, on the 23rd November.From South Sudan to Uganda, Myanmar to Bangladesh, Syria to Jordan; refugees have endured long, dangerous and difficult journeys. “It was a very terrible journey, we had to cross jungle and climb huge hills”, says Alin who fled Myanmar and carried her two young children for ten days until they reached safety.Through this collective effort we will show our solidarity, build better understanding of refugees and raise money to protect refugees and help them to rebuild their lives.This global movement is being organised by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. They are the world’s leading organisation dedicated to supporting people forced to flee or those deprived of a nationality. They lead international action to protect them, deliver life-saving assistance like shelter, food and water, and help to safeguard fundamental human rights.Liquidnet will double all donations.

I will be running at Hong Kong 100km Ultra Trail Race, 19 January 2019.I dedicate this run to support UNHCR Campaign - 2 Billion Kilometers To Safety. Refugees worldwide do walking and running each year to reach the nearest point of safety. From South Sudan to Uganda, Myanmar to Bangladesh, Syria to Jordan; they have endured long, dangerous, and difficult journeys. En países como Somalia, muchas familias se ven forzadas a huir con nada más que lo puesto y pasan días sin más alimento que los matojos del camino. Al llegar a los campos, la cantidad de niños que llegan con desnutrición nos deja sin palabras. Una vez allí, no siempre se puede dar toda la ayuda que nos gustaría. De hecho, en 2017, ACNUR se vio obligado a recortar las raciones de comida al 50% por falta de financiación. A día de hoy, muchos niños siguen en riesgo de morir de hambre. Algo que, con tu ayuda, podemos evitar.

Purpose of the walk: I will spend one year to walk from Hong Kong to London as a charity to collect donation for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Meanwhile I hope to spread the concept of great unity to all places where I reach. The earth looks very huge but there are roads to connect from one living place of people to the other. What we need is only a pair of legs then we can reach the corner or edge of the world from east to west, it is not that far anymore. Even people are living very close to each other but there are still too many disasters and wars in this 21st Century and caused many people die because of losing their home and shortage of food. I do not have money to help them but I have love. Money is practical help for physically needs but love is more important. I have decided the method of walking, to tell people about the importance of love and I wish my action will inspire the wealthy people to donate for those who need help.
