The Autism Cafe Project
Hi, I'm Dzul. I ran for autism cause for The National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) in Berlin Marathon last year. Check out my story here (https://simplygiving.com/dzul-run-for-autism) From the raised funds, we have subsidized the underprivileged students at NASOM centres in Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan for their speech therapy program. (Thanks, donors!) Running is always my passion. It makes me motivated to run for a cause and this time I would like to do it and raise funds for the Autism Cafe Project (ACP). Check out ACP story here (https://www.simplygiving.com/Event/AutismCafeProjectVan) As a parent to an autistic son (he’s 5 now), it is my greatest concern about his future. I felt ACP provides me a comfort that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Thus I’m dedicating my next breakthrough, to run ultra-marathons to make sure I did my part for the ACP sustainability. As I grew from 5km to 10km to half marathon to full marathon and soon ultra-marathon; I want to relate my running aspirations here with ACP; as it has grown from just an idea morphing into where they are now (with staff strength rose from 1 to 16 autistic youth!). This year, I would like to do my breakthrough by completing my 1st ultra-marathons at these most established events in Malaysia: Route 68 Challenge- 50km road running (29 April 2018) Selangor- Pahang The Most Beautiful Thing- 50km trail running (1 September 2018) Sabah Yes, together we can sustain and make the impact for ACP! Azura, Alyah, and myself will be running at the SNOW ICE RUN on March 25th, Taman Pudu Ulu, Cheras, Malaysia to raise money for Autism Cafe Project.Please help us to help others...Our ultimate goal is to eventually raise RM90k to help purchase a van for ACP. We plan to reach this figure through encouraging others to participate and by giving our time and energy to achievable fun events.
