Inspired by the good deeds of my fellow ARMYs and of course BTS, I'm starting a fundraiser to help raise 800 BTS kits for Save the Children Philippines. Just an overview of my 1st encounter with BTS-They first caught my attention in 2014, when a childhood friend showed me one of their music videos, Boy in Luv. That was the time when I began to follow their live performances and music videos. I was completely taken aback, seeing them all at once piqued my interest because I had some experience with dancing. After that, I learned more about them and their message. What made me stay in the fandom are their songs. It really helped overcome the struggles I've been to and as cliche, as it sounds, their songs made me feel better and accompanied. Today marks my 7th year as an army. Please join me in supporting these children to have their learning kits. Spread love and kindness. Borahae 💜💜

In the case of the Philippines, Filipinos have a high rate of illiteracy. According to figures from the Department of Education and the National Statistical Coordination Board in the Philippines, 1 in 6 Filipino kids will not attend school, and only 7 out of 10 kids will complete elementary school. As of 2018, a quarter of the 105 million Philippine population lived in poverty, that is, over 26 million people. Through various anti-poverty programs, such as the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform, and the Social Reform Agenda, the Philippines has been through a long battle to improve those statistics.Despite these governmental efforts, the race on how poverty affects education in the Philippines and reduce illiteracy in the Philippines has been a slow process. The poor in the Philippines are most likely self-employed farmers, fishermen, or other agricultural workers who, instead of sending their children to school for proper education. For most of these poor households, only about 60% of the family members have education up to elementary school. Due to inadequate care and proper education, many Filipino children take to the streets to fend for themselves and their families. They are searching for a means of survival.Help us support health educatation services for 800 children. A donation of Php 300 could support health education services for 800 children which includes the necessary tools to diagnose malnutrition and they need to support their studies , and train volunteers that could assist in providing health services. In the last 40 years, Save the Children Philippines has been able to help protect every child’s right to fair and equal access to nutritious food by calling on the support of government, civil society organizations, and the public through our #LahatDapat campaign. With your support, we are determined to achieve even more significant progress in promoting and protecting the rights of children. #SavetheChildrenPHat40 #ForAndWithChildren

Hello! My name's Kath and I believe that all children have the right to access education even in the most challenging times, and last year, Save the Children Philippines was able to provide thousands of children with learning kits, so that no child would be left behind. That's thanks to all the help and response received from the Hero from Home campaign that supported Project ARAL (Access to Resources for Alternative Learning). This year, to mark the 40 years of Save the Children in the Philippines, I pledge to raise 40,000 PHP to keep supporting Project ARAL. A new school year is approaching in the "new normal", but not all children have the tools to access online education. We can help and reach more children before the school year starts!

Every child has the right to education and must be given the best opportunities to learn. Currently, learners are facing an education crisis due to the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure the fulfillment of children’s right to education, Save the Children launched Project ARAL or Access to Resources for Alternative Learning. This helps ensure that children can continue learning even from their own homes by providing them with alternative learning materials and building the capacity of parents and caregivers to create a safe and nurturing environment that supports the holistic learning of their children.Help us provide learning kits to 800 children. A new school year is about to begin and children will once again need these materials to support their learning from home or in school once the situation allows. A donation of Php 500 will provide a child with a learning kit that contains papers, pencils, crayons, erasers, and other writing supplies. In the last 40 years, Save the Children Philippines has been able to support the educational needs of children by ensuring that their learning environment is safe and they are able to access quality materials even at an early age. Our Early Childhood Care and Development programs have helped improve the development and school readiness of children through the capacity-building and formation of support groups for parents and caregivers, development and provision of age-appropriate and indigenous play materials, development and publication of books and other early literacy materials in their mother-tongue language, and partnership with local government. In addition, our Inclusive Education programs have been supporting learners with disabilities through the establishment of school models, training teachers on inclusive education practices, and educating parents and communities. With your support, we are determined to achieve even more significant progress in promoting and protecting the rights of children. #SavetheChildrenPHat40 #ForAndWithChildren

BTS ARMY fundraiser for BTS Kits for children In celebration of ARMY’s 8th birthday this July 9, I am inviting my fellow ARMYs to help out so we can make a donation in BTS and ARMY’s names. Donations collected will provide children with BTS kits (Back-To-School) or learning kits that they can use this coming school year which begins in just a few months.I am proud to be an ARMY and have always admired how the community comes together not only to support our idols, but also to support causes like this. In 2016, ARMYs in the US donated to Save the Children to help keep children healthy, educated, and safe. Since then, ARMY has been involved in countless charities and this inspired me to do the same for Filipino kids!Let’s raise at least Php 80,000 as we celebrate our 8th birthday and donate it in BTS and ARMY’s names. We can do this! Why Save the Children?July 9 is a very special day to me because it’s also my own birthday. I turn 27 this year and this is my second birthday fundraiser with Save the Children. Last year, we were able to raise 26k for my 26th birthday and I have seen how Save the Children assisted kids in terms of their education through their Project ARAL (Access to Resources for Alternative Learning). This year, I wanted to make it extra special by celebrating ARMY’s birthday and my birthday through a fundraiser that will be donated in ARMY and BTS' name.Thank you ARMY!보라해, 이사이 (Isay Iglesias)

We are raising money for Save the Children to support displaced children in Marawi. Year Four is hoping to raise 60,000 pesos to help children gain access to educational books, clean water and hygiene kits. Many children in Marawi have been displaced since war broke out in 2017, and they were just beginning to go back to school when COVID 19 hit. These children are now entering their fourth year without access to education, quarantining in tents and they need our help! During this spring term, Year Four have been learning about refugees and displaced children. We read a book called ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’; it tells the story of a Syrian refugee boy that has been on a very challenging journey to get to England and find safety. Inspired by the story, we did some of our own research, and found out that there are 80 milliion displaced people in the world, and that 31 million of those people are children. I approached Save the Children Philippines to ask them to come and speak with my students about displaced children and refugees around the world, and it is then that I learnt more about the situation in Marawi. I thought it would be such a valuable experience for my students to learn about a cause that is so close to home, so we decided to raise some money. Students began their project by learning more about Marawi, collecting facts and figures. A representative from Save the Children came and spoke to us, and then a teacher from Marawi also connected with us to answer our questions and explain more about the situation on the ground. Students then wrote persuasive emails to their parents and family friends, encouraging them to donate and explaining how difficult life is for the children of Marawi. They extended this learning into their art class, designing posters for their campaign. The recent quarantine of children in the Philippines has been challenging for all of us, but for the children that live in tents, with no access to electricity, books and electronics it has been so much harder. We hope that, with your help, we will be able to achieve our goal of helping the children of Marawi.
